today, we are showcasing our favorite vintage image over at the A Day for Daisies Blog:

• color the cute A Day for Daisies Vintage Fairy Ring Two image with Delta, Touch Twin Brush Markers and a white gel pen
• add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to her wings and her dress
• create a background on a tag cut from Mixed Media cardstock using Distress Paints (Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Iced Spruce, Tumbled Glass)
• stamp the Lavinia Stamps Spotty Toadstools with VersaMagic (Eggplant) and color them with Twinkling H20s (Twilight, Cafe Latte) and a white gel pen
• tap the Clear Emboss it Dabber onto the Memory Box Stardust stencil and heat-emboss the resulting stars and dots with WOW! Bluetiful embossing powder
• add some splatters with Finetec Mica Watercolors (Sterling Silver) before adhering the fairy
• ink up the edges of the tag with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and dye a piece of seam binding with that same ink color before threading it through the hole of the tag and tying it into a bow
• add the sentiment using Idea-ology Small Talk Stickers

Hi there,

it is time for our April Challenge over at the Skipping Stones Design Blog. This time we are having a Sketch Challenge:

 

• create a background on a stitched watercolor paper panel using the Skipping Stones Design Funny Coffee #1 stamp set, the Memory Box Drip Rings stencil and Distress Ink (Ground Espresso)
• spritz the panel with plain water and add droplets of pearlized water
• adhere a strip of brown foiled cardstock near the bottom of the panel and use foam tape to mount a stitched panel with the sentiment from the same stamp set on top
• cut out a stitched circle from watercolor paper and stamp the coffee cup from the same stamp set with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) 
• stamp one of the butterflies from the Skipping Stones Design Dandelion Dreams stamp set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Frozen embossing powder
• color the cup with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a waterbrush
• add Glossy Accents onto the coffee in the cup

Neon Monster Birthday

Hi there,

we are starting a new Challenge over at the Moving along with the Times Blog today and this time the topic is "So 80's!". I went for Neon and Pac Man:

• stamp one of the monsters from the Lawn Fawn Monster Mash stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black) on watercolor paper and color them with neon ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens ... add a shadow around each monster with a light grey marker for more depth
• cut out the Memory Box Paintbrush Happy from the panel and several times from white cardstock
• puzzle the die-cut back into place with all the white layers underneath for a raised look
• stamp part of the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages stamp set with Versamark on a strip of black cardstock and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• add a strip of the same black cardstock to the right of the panel and adhere everything to a white cardbase

Color outside the Lines

Hi there,

it is Sunday again and that means it is time for a new STAMPlorations Mixed Media Project:

• cut a tag from watercolor paper using the Sizzix Tag Collection and cover it with black gesso
• apply Izink (Opaline) through the ARTplorations Retro Circles stencil
• adhere some pieces of wax crayon onto the left side of the tag with hot glue and melt them with a heat gun
• add a strip of patterned paper from the Avery Elle Neutral Collection 6x6 paper pad
• roll some paper flowers from leftover patterned paper and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Festive Berries)
• cut the Kesi'Art Brin Évidé from green vellum 
• dye a piece of seam binding with the same Distress Ink and thread it through the hole of the tag
• position the sentiment sticker at the bottom of the tag

our new Theme Challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations is all about Ladybugs:

• color the ladybug on a leaf from the Doddle Pantry Critter Bugs set with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
• add Gelly Roll Stardust Clear Glitter to the hearts on top of the antennae and cover them with Glossy Accents
• create a background on a piece of watercolor paper using Distress Inks (Twisted Citron, Tumbled Glass, Mowed Lawn), a piece of acetate and a Mini Mister
• stamp the sentiment from Altenew Label Love with Versafine (Onyx Black) and cut the strip into a little banner
• take a piece of white cardstock and cover it with Distress Ink (Mowed Lawn), cut off a strip and trim it into a little banner 
• add a strip of that same DIY green cardstock and a piece of black and white patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Dots & Stripes Neutral 6x6 paper pack to the left side of the card

• stamp the car and the driver from Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes and Half Pint Heroes Additions with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the image with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers - add highlights with a white gel pen
• color two strips of white cardstock with the same markers used on the image and stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Memento (Tuxedo Black)
• add stitching to the right side of the banners with one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders
• cut out a scalloped rectangle using the Waltzingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangles and color the edges with one of the blue markers to create a custom-made background panel

the topic of our new Challenge over at A Day for Daisies is "Anything but a Card" and of course I had to create a tag:

• color the A Day for Daisies Vintage cut Roses with Distress Markers (Vintage Photo) and PITT Pastels (Bistre, Olive Green Yellowish)
• ink up the edges of the stitched tag with Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) and the Mini Ink Blending Tool
• add splatters with Finetec Mica Watercolors (Regal Bronze)
• stamp the sentiment from the Clearly Bessotted Sweet Little Sentiments set with Versafine (Vinatge Sepia)
• dye a piece of white wool felt with Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) and cut out the Paper Smooches Baby Bow and add it to the top of the tag

it is time for a new Photo Inspiration Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More:

• cut out one of the My Favorite Things Flutter of Butterflies Lace from white cardstock and use the negative as a stencil
• stamp the little flower from Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms through the stencil using different Altenew Crisp Inks (Frosty Pink, Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris)
• cut out a stitched rectangle with the help of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Stitched Rectangles
• put the butterfly die on top of the stamped shape and run it through the Big Shot to emboss it onto the panel
• cut out the Clearly Besotted Stamps thanks from white cardstock and cover the bottom portion with DIY Toner Paint - let it dry thoroughly 
• run the sentiment through the Mini Minc in order to add purple foil
• color the front of a white cardbase with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord)
• assemble the card by adhering a piece of Mulberry paper between the panel and the cardbase

• stamp the flower from the Lawn Fawn Flutter by stamp set with embossing ink, mask it and add a leaf from the same stamp set on both sides
• color the flower with PITT Pastel Pencils 
• add dots with a silver PITT Artist Pen and a white gel pen
• stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Jahreszeiten with purple pigment ink
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink - Shaded Lilac and thread it through the hole of the tag

• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• cover the sheep with Multi Medium Matte and apply Sparkling White Flocking on top
• add Glossy Accents to the heart
• cut out another stitched panel and stamp the little flowers from the set with Memento (Gray Flannel) and color them with DIY, Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers

• cut out a stitched square with the help of the My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX and the Create a Smile Magical Frame
• cut the Magical Frame a second time - this time from wood and puzzle all the pieces together
• stamp the sentiment from Mama Elephant in my Heart with Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Bubblegum)
• add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the flowers and Distress Stickles (Spun Sugar) to the cat's nose
