Flower Egg

Hi there,

this is the project that I created for this month's Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge:

• cover an egg with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Blueberry embossing powder
• afterwards cover random spots with Versamark and heat-emboss them Ranger Sticky embossing powder
• add foil to the sticky spots
• cover the whole egg with DecoArt Antiquing Cream (Patina Green), let it dry and only leave it where you want it to be
• seal the egg with DecoArt Varnish (Ultra-Matte)
• cover metal flowers and leaves with Distress Paints (Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint) and add DecoArt Antiquing Cream on top (Carbon Black, Titanium White)
• adhere the flower cluster with hot glue

Fabulous Birthday Monster

Hi there,

it is time for another CAS Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More:

 

• color the A Day for Daisies Monster Joe with Delta, Touch Twin Brush Markers and a white gel pen
• add a grey border around the image and draw in a thin line with a white gel pen 
• dye Prima Marketing Modeling Paste with Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers) and apply it through the Dina Wakley Plastic Canvas stencil
• sprinkle WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing powder over the wet modeling paste and dry everything with a heat-tool - this will make the modeling paste pop up a bit which is great for even more texture
• add a strip of grey cardstock and patterned paper from the Avery Elle Everyday Collection to the left side of the card and cut sentiment strips from those papers as well
• stamp the sentiment from Uniko Simply Said with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• add a stitched border to the sentiment strips with the help of one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Border dies

Upside Down Flamingo

Hi there,

I would like to show you this fun flamingo card using a new Digital Stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs:

• create a background on a stitched square panel of watercolor paper using Distress Markers and the Distress Marker Spritzer
• color the Gerda Steiner Designs Different Perspective Flamingo with the same pink markers and a watercolor brush
• add Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay to the feathery parts and Glossy Accents to the beak
• stamp a custom-made sentiment using the Stampendous Tiny Alpha stamp set and Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• mat the anel onto pink cardstock before adhering it to a cardbase
• add some Create a Smile enamel stickers as final embellishments

1 Die 8 Looks: Part 5 - Shaker Card with Flower Silhouette

Hi there,

this is the next part of my series over at the Karten-Kunst Blog. Part 5 is all about creating a shaker card:

• cut out a circle from a stitched panel of white cardstock using one of the Avery Elle Double Pierced Circle dies
• create a frame from watercolor paper using two of the dies from the same set
• cut out the Memory Box Sketch Daisy from watercolor paper as well
• color the frame and the daisy with watered-down Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio) and add some splatters to the white panel
• adhere a piece of acetate behind the circle cutout and create a shaker element using two-layers of foam tape
• fill the shaker element with Little Things from Lucy's Cards Sequins (Phosphorescence)
• add the sentiment from the Ideaology Big Chat sticker set and ink up its edges with Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers) and the Mini Ink Blending Tool

Create without Fear ATC Trio

Hi there,

since it is the first Sunday of the month, we are starting a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog. This time I will be showing you an ATC Trio:

• create some Gelli Print backgrounds on deli paper using a brayer, Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paints (Lapis, Night, Turquoise) and the ARTplorations Big Bloom Factory Large stencil
• cover three ATCs cut from sturdy watercolor paper with part of a print using Dina Wakley Gel Medium
• create tissue tape with the help of tissue paper, Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel) and several stamps from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set and from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set
• add two strips of tissue tape to each card
• apply Texture Paste through the ARTplorations Retro Circles stencil and let it dry thoroughly
• mix some Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint (Night) with Acrylic Glazing Liquid and paint it over the stenciled area on all three ATCs, let it sit for a moment and wipe it away with a baby wipe - repeat the process until you are happy with the result
• cover all three cards with clear gesso

• use the MISTI and Archival Ink (Black Soot) to stamp the birds and the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 set
• add splatters with some left-over glazing mixture and draw in some details with a white gel pen
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)

• use the MISTI and Archival Ink (Black Soot) to stamp the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments: Create set and some birds from the STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 set
• add splatters with some left-over glazing mixture and draw in some details with a white gel pen
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)

• use the MISTI and Archival Ink (Black Soot) to stamp one of the large birds and the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 set
• add splatters with some left-over glazing mixture and draw in some details with a white gel pen
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
