Blossom Index Card

Hi there,

Our Mixed Media Moods is celebrating its one year Moodaversary and I created this Index Card inspired bei Jenn's and Dee Dee's Mood Board:

  • glue together two 3'' x 5'' index cards for an extra sturdy base
  • cover the whole card with white gesso
  • add an extra layer with heavy gesso and carve some leaf shapes into it with the back of your paintbrush
  • add some color with watered-down Dylusions Paint (Funky Fuchsia, Calypso Teal)
  • use a black Dina Wakley Scribble Stick to add some shadows around the leaves
  • add some texture to the background by stamping the Rubber Dance Vintage Hotel Receipt with Archival Ink (Watering Can)
  • add faux stitching all around the card with the help of one of the stamps from the Darkroom Door Stitched Borders set and Archival Ink (Black Soot)
  • add a sentiment sticker on top of a piece of matching used underpaper and corrugated cardboard

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this sweet birthday card that I created for the new Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge:

  • create that striped background on a stitched panel of watercolor paper using watercolors (Prima Marketing, Winsor & Newton), a flat brush and your MISTI Creative Corners
  • stamp the adorable little girl from the Neat & Tangled Better together set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the image with Copic, Touch Twin Brush and Delta Markers
  • wrap a strip of torn vellum around the panel before adhering the girl on top
  • cut the sentiment with the help of the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Border and kraft cardstock
  • for the cardbase I used kraft cardstock as well

Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Fun

Hi there,

I created this Summer Fun project using images created by the wonderful Gerda Steiner. You can find them over at Gerda Steiner Designs:

  • color the Gerda Steiner Designs Watermelon Kid and the Gerda Steiner Designs Bear with Watermelon with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and Zest-it
  • cut put some Polaroids using patterned paper from the Echo Park Summer Bliss 6x6 paper pad and one of the My Favorite Things Polaroids dies
  • dry emboss a stitched piece of Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock with the Tim Holtz Ringer embossing folder for extra dimension
  • add another strip of patterned paper underneath the pictures and adhere all the layers to a cardbase
  • add the sentiment created with a Dymo Label Maker

Have a sunny day.

Thank you Caruso

Hi there,

I would like to share another Caruso Creation over on the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • stamp Caruso from the Karten-Kunst Caruso bringt ein Ständchen set once onto smooth white cardstock with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and once onto watercolor paper with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • cut out a stitched rectangle around the image
  • cut out the other image and color it with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos
  • create a ground for Caruso to stand on with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone) and a wet watercolor brush
  • stamp some flowers from the Karten-Kunst Blümchen-Meer with watered-down Distress Inks (Shaded Lilac, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry)
  • add some splatters with watered-down Distress Ink (Black Soot)
  • stamp the Karten-Kunst Danke schön with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • mount the watercolor panel onto a piece of pink cardstock before adhering it to a white cardbase

I hope that you like my creation.
