we are starting a new Challenge over on the Addicted to Stamps and More Blog and on this card I tried a fun new technique - I created a background with water-reactive tissue paper. Since I thought this technique is especially fun for children, my little daughter Emily made this card with me:
- cut out hearts and dots from the Vicki Boutin Reactive Tissue Paper and place them on a stitched panel of watercolor paper
- mist the shapes with water and let it sit for a minute (I would recommend to tape down the panel - I will definitely do it next time)
- now start to dry the panel with your heat tool and watch all the shapes fly off and leave behind a beautiful pattern
- stamp two cats, the fishbowl, the mouse and the pillow from the Clearly Besotted Stamps You're Purrfect set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) onto Perfect Colouring Paper and color the images with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
- tear a piece of vellum and create a ground with the help of the Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Dot Fade), Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
- cut out two banners - one from white cardstock and one from patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Smitten 6x6 paper pad - using one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment Strips
- stamp the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Cool Cat set with Distress Oxide Ink (Wilted Violet) to match the background
I hope you got inspired and that you will try this fun technique.
Yours,
