Happy Birthday Fairy

Hi there,

I would like to show you this new creation over at the A Day for Daisies Blog:

  • color the A Day for Daisies Fairy Queen Scarlet with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers, Finetec Mica Watercolors and a waterbrush
  • add some splatters with the main colors used on the image
  • cut out the Memory Box Paintbrush Happy from white cardstock and color it with a Touch Twin Brush Marker
  • cover the lower part of the sentiment with DecoFoil Adhesive and adhere turquoise foil 
  • stamp the second part of the sentiment from the Uniko Simply Said stamp set with Versamark onto a strip of black cardstock and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • add a strip of black and purple glitter cardstock to the left side of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

Sunshine Butterfly

Hi there,

it is time for a new Challenge over at the Skipping Stones Design Blog and this time it is all about "Summer":

  • stamp the striped butterfly from the Skipping Stones Design Let it be stamp set several times with Versafine (Onyx Black) - once on white cardstock as a backing for the whole embellishment and onto three differnt sheets of patterned paper from BoBunny Lemonade Stand
  • paper-piece the butterfly and add Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter to the yellow and green portions
  • apply Distress Ink (Scattered Straw) to a stitched white cardpanel with a Mini Ink Blending Tool in a circular motion in order to create a backdrop
  • stamp the second part of the sentiment with Versafine (Onyx Black) and part of the "Sparkle & Shine " from the same stamp set
  • cut out the first part of the sentiment from the teal patterned paper used on the butterfly with the help of the Paper Smooches Alpha Whimsy die set
  • add Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter to the die cut letters
  • adhere the butterfly to the panel and the panel to a white cardbase using foam tape

Happy Birthday Doodle Flower

Hi there,

why don't you join us for our CAS Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More?

  • stamp one flower, two leaves and the sentiment from the Happy Little Stampers Doodled Flowers stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • color the image and the background with Distress Re-Inkers (Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage) and a waterbrush
  • let the panel dry thoroughly
  • embellish the piece with black Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor splatters and draw in some details with a white gel pen
  • add a black strip of cardstock to the left side of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

Lucky Duck

Hi there,

I would like to show you this sweet new creation for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • stamp the duck from the Gerda Steiner Designs Lucky Duck stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black) and mask it
  • stamp the lily pad from the same set and mask it, too
  • create a background using Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean)
  • cut a panel using one of the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers
  • color the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
  • wrap Natural Twine around the right side of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase using foam tape
  • add a little bow at the top right corner

Fairy Tag

  • create a background with Distress Re-Inker (Chipped Sapphire) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink in the same color
  • add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to her wings
  • stamp the script from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements stamp set for additional texture
  • dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire) as well, to match the project perfectly

Happy Birthday Cake

Hi there,

this is my newest creation for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • stamp the cake and the piece of cake from Lawn Fawn Year Three, the pesent from Lawn Fawn Year Two and the bird, the party hat and the balloon from Lawn Fawn Year Four with Memento Tuxedo Black
  • color the images with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • add a highlight to the balloon with a white gel pen
  • cut out the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card once from watercolor paper and once from patternend paper from the Prima Marketing All about me 6x6 paper pad
  • create a background on the watercolor panel using Distress Inks (Hickory Smoke, Peacock Feathers, Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass), a waterbrush, the My Favorite Things Jumbo Abstract Art stamp set and a Mini Mister
  • ink up the edges of both panels with Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • create the first part of the sentiment with a Dymo Label Maker and stamp the second part of the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Two set onto a banner from patterned paper from the same patterned paper pad with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • use kraft cardstock as a base and round all four corners with a 1'' corner rounder
  • run the cardbase through your Big Shot together with a woodgrain embossing folder before adhering both panels

Stamp Connection #15

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our 15th transatlantic get-together!

We have invited a Guest Designer this time. So please, make sure to visit Aileen's Blog.

Our requirement for this meet-up was:
"use Alcohol Inks"

  • create a landscape on Lanavanguard paper using Alcohol Inks (Stonewashed, Cloudy Blue, Juniper, Lake Mist)
  • cut out a stitched square with the help of one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX
  • add some yellow Alcohol Inks (Lemonade, Sunshine Yellow) and some grey and white Alcohol Ink (Slate, Snowcap Mixative) to another piece of Lanavanguard and cut out a sun and a cloud using the WPlus Sunshine Layers
  • stamp the little fairy house from the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends stamp set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the image with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • cut out a stitched panel from Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock with the help of one of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Stitched Rectangles 
  • stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home stamp set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • adhere the whole panel to a craft cardbase using foam adhesive

Fancy Fairy Tag

Hi there,

we are starting a new challenge over at the A Day for Daisies Blog and this time we would like you to CASE one of the DT's projects:

  • color the A Day for Daisies Fancy Shoe Fairy with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a waterbrush
  • add Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter to her wings
  • cut out a tag from watercolor paper and create a marbled background using Distress Paints (Weathered Wood, Shaded Lilac, Broken China)
  • ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Broken China)
  • apply Radiant Gel (Stargazer) through the Prima Marketing Fading Floral stencil 
  • stamp the script from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements stamp set with Altenew Crisp Ink (Dusk) and heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder for more texture
  • cut out some leaves using one of the Paper Smooches Foliage 1 dies from vellum
  • dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Broken China) and thread it through the hole of the tag

Blumenduft - Flowers

Hi there,

I am trying out watercolor stamping with two different mediums for the Karten-Kunst Blog. Today, I am using Gelatos to achieve a soft and vintage look:

  • cut a stitched panel from watercolor paper using one of the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers
  • color the Penny Black The Unfolding stamp with Gelatos and mist it with water from your Mini Mister - stamp the image several times using the MISTI until satisfied with the result
  • add splatters with black Kurteake Gansai Tambi watercolors 
  • stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Große Worte Frühlingserwachen with Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
  • mat the panel onto a piece of distressed patterned paper from the Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics 6x6 paper pad before adhering it to a kraft cardbase

Happy Birthday Houses

Hi there,

it's time for another Stencil Sunday Post over at the STAMPlorations Blog and this is the tag I created:

  • create a background using the new Paper Artsy Infusions (Golden Sands, Lemoncello, Orange County, The Sage) on a tag cut from watercolor paper
  • apply Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke) through the ARTplorations Weathered Wood stencil
  • add a border with the help of the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements stamp set and Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black)
  • add texture by stamping the STAMPlorations Big Numbers Background with Memento (Rich Cocoa) and by applying Distress Ink (Black Soot) through the ARTplorations Dots all over stencil
  • add some splatters with the Finetec Mica Watercolor (Regal Bronze)
  • stamp some houses from the STAMPlorations Houses stamp set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) using the masking technique
  • color the image with Delta an Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • cut out the Memory Box Paintbrush Happy twice from black cardstock and layers them on top of each other
  • after gluing this first part of the sentiment down cover it with Glossy Accents for more shine and dimension
  • add the second part of the sentiment using the Dymo Label Maker
  • dye a piece of seam binding with the same Infusions colors used on the background and thread it through the hole of the tag

The Earth laughs in Flowers

Hi there,

today, we are having our Release Blog Hop over at Skipping Stones Design and I am showcasing the Skipping Stones Design I'd pick you stamp set. When I first saw the beautiful flower images of this set, I knew that I had to watercolor them:

  • stamp the bouquet from the new Skipping Stones Design I'd pick you stamp set with Versamark onto the smooth side of a piece of watercolor paper and heat-emboss it with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine
  • color the image with Winsor & Newton watercolors and Distress Markers and add some blue and black splatters
  • cut out a stitched panel from the watercolor piece
  • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black
  • add a strip of black cardstock and a strip of patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Rainbow Stripes 6x6 paper pad to the left side of the card before adhering it to a white cardbase
