Stamp Connection #28

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our 28th transatlantic get-together!

Our requirement for this meet-up was:
Tropical

We also have a special guest for you - Maike from Maikreations is joining us for this summer challenge. I already took a peek at her project ... now it's your turn.

• cut out a Tattered Lace Torn Edge Rectangle from watercolor paper and stamp several of the smaller images from the My Favorite Things Polynesian Paradise set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• color the images with Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer Pencils and a damp watercolor brush
• stamp the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages set with Versamark onto a strip of vellum and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• add a strip of burlap underneath and adhere the sentiment strip to the main panel
• mount the panel onto a scalloped rectangle created using the My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 set and patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Island Escpape paper pad

Hawaiian Tag

Hi there,

inspired by the movie Vaiana I created this tag over on the Stamping-Fairies Blog:

• cut out one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tag STAX from watercolor paper
• stamp the pineapple from the My Favorite Things Polynesian Paradise set with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) and color the image with Brushos (Light Brown, Lemon, Olive Green), water from the Mini Mister and a watercolor brush
• cut out a sandy hill using patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Island Escape paper pad and the My Favorite Things Stitched Snow Drifts
• stamp the little turtle from the same stamp set with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) and color it with Brushos (Light Brown, Olive Green) as well
• cut out a flower using patterned paper from the Maja Design Vintage Spring and Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics 6x6 paper pad with the help of the Sizzix Tim Holtz Tropical die set
• add foil to the leaves with the help of the Ranger Collage Glue Stick and Heidi Swapp Teal to Silver Ombre foil
• ink up the edges of the flower with Distress Ink (Victorian Velvet) and the edges of the leaf with Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers) 
• cut a sentiment strip with the My Favorite Things Stitched Sentiment set from the Kaisercraft Island Escape paper pad and stamp the sentiment with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Verdigris embossing powder
• punch a little hole at the top of the tag and thread teal and natural twine through it

Hi there,

we are starting a Clean and Simple Challenge over at Moving along with the Times:

• stamp the cocktail from the Paper Smooches Get outta Town stamp set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and mask it off
• afterwards stamp the hibiscus flower and the sentiment from the same stamps set with the same ink - I used my MISTI for the sentiment to stamp it twice for a really crisp impression
• do some partial die cutting with one of the My Favorite Things Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX and let some petals of the hibiscus flower hang outside the circle
• color the images and the background with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
• use the Kaisercraft Type embossing folder on a strip of white paper
• ink up the embossed strip with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon)

Missing you Mermaid

Hi there,

come and meet this sweet little mermaid from A Day for Daisies. We are also starting a new challenge and the topic is "Stitch it up":

• color A Day for Daisies Human Doll with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a damp brush
• add Versamark to the starfish and heat-emboss it with JudiKins Egyptian Gold embossing powder
• add silver thread behind the focal image
• cover a piece of watercolor paper with gesso and create a background with Gelatos (Cotton Candy, Boysenberry) and a wet baby wipe
• use bubble wrap, a cap and gesso to stamp on some texture
• spritz the background with Prima Marketing Color Bloom Sultry Shimmer Cobalt and apply clear embossing powder over the top
• cut out a banner using the My Favorite Things Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX
• add Distress Ink (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers) around the edges of the banner
• cut out a panel from Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock using the Waltzingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangles and emboss it with my new Kaisercraft Circles embossing folder
• stamp the sentiment from Altenew Label Love with Versafine (Majestic Blue) onto a piece of sturdy white cardstock, cut it out and add it to the card using foam adhesive

Jingle all the Way

Hi there,

since it is the fifth Saturday of the month it's Pick a Previous time over at the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. I chose the sketch from October 2014:

• stamp the Christmas Tree and the cute deer from My Favorite Things Jingle all the Way with MFT Hybrid Ink (Black Licorice) and color the images with Delta Markers
• add details with a white gel pen
• cut out one stitched rectangle (Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card) and two squares (My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX) from patterened paper from the Kaisercraft Gingerbread 6,5 x 6,5 paper pad
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• add wood veneer stars as final embellishments and add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
• use Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock as a cardbase

today, I would like to show you another creation using one of the A Day for Daisies Chubby Mermaids:

• color the beautiful A Day for Daisies Beautiful Chubby Mermaid Two with the Art Grip Aquarelle Pencils, a waterbrush, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and Distress Paint (Brushed Pewter)
• add paint splatters using Distress Paint (Brushed Pewter)
• cut out the image using the Waltzingmouse Stamps Scalloped Stitched Rectangles
• stamp the sentiment from Kaiserkraft Blue Bay with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• at this point I decided to put the whole panel into a shaker bag assembled using my new Photo Sleeve Fuse Tool
• add sequins (Neat & Tangled Mermaid Tail Sequin Mix) before closing the last side of the shaker
• adhere the shaker to Gemstone Cardstock

Speech Bubble Christmas Cat

it's the first Saturday of the month and we are having a Sketch Challenge over at the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• stamp the cat from Create a Smile Your View and the Santa Hat from Paper Smooches Chubby Chum Pals with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color them with Delta Markers
• cut out a speech bubble and stamp the sentiment from Create a Smile Schöne Bescherung with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• cut out one of the My Favourite Things Die-namics Stitched Square STAX with the Big Shot from wood veneer, stamp the snowflakes from Lawn Fawn Let it snow with Versamark and heat-emboss them with JudiKins White Diamond embossing powder
• cut out the same square from white cardstock and cut it apart with the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Die; cover the hill shape with Versamark and heat-emboss it with the same embossing powder
• ink up the edges of the speech bubble and the edges of a strip of patterned paper from the Kaisercraft Gingerbread 6,5 x 6,5 paper pad with Distress Inks (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo)
• wrap a burlap ribbon around the kraft cardbase
• round the top right corner with your 1'' corner rounder

• create a background on a Manila Tag #5 using Distress Paints (Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey)
• stamp Kaisercraft Dress Form with Versafine (Onyx Black) and remember that you are stamping on a rather slick surface ... ask me how I know
• dye Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste with a Distress Re-Inker (Dusty Concord) and apply it through a Dylusions Stencil (Luscious Leaves)
• stamp the sentiment from the Paper Artsy Jofy Collection 11 with Versafine (Onyx Black) on watercolor paper and add some color with Distress Inks (Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey)
• dye a piece of seam binding with the same ink colors
• ink up the edges of the tag with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
• add PITT Artist Pen Metallic Silver using the Distress Marker Spritzer as a finishing touch

• stamp the cute little lion from Mama Elephant Cosmic Stars and the santa hat from Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins with Memento (Tuxedo Black) on Perfect Colouring Paper and color the images with Delta Markers, a white gel pen, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and Liquid Applique
• cut two tags from the Kaisercraft Gingerbread 6,5 x 6,5 paper pad and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)
• stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) and the little lion with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• thread two strings of Prima Marketing Jute Trim Wheat through the holes of the tags
• stamp the snowflake and star background from Lawn Fawn Let it snow with Brilliance (Moonlight White) onto a kraft cardbase; ink up the edges with the same white ink

• create a background on watercolor paper using Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Broken China) and spritz it with Prima Marketing Color Bloom Sparkling Pastels Pearl White spray
• stamp Kaisercraft Sheet Music with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and cut honeycombs out of that piece
• adhere the honeycombs to a white cardbase maintaining the ombre look
• ink up the edges of the cardbase with Distress Ink (Cracked Pistachio)
• cut out "happy" from Lori Whitlock Script Word List Birthday twice and layer the pieces on top of each other
• cover the sentiment with Versamark and heat-emboss it with silver embossing powder
• stamp the second part of the sentiment from Mama Elephant Happy Everything with Versafine (Onyx Black) directly to the cardbase
• stamp the medium-sized butterfly from WPlus9 Flora and Fauna 2 with Versamark on a piece of vellum and heat-emboss it with the same silver embosing powder
• add Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (4mm Metallic Silver) as final embellishment

• create a background using Distress Inks (Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers): add ink from the inkpad to a piece of acetate and tap it on a piece of watercolor paper until you are happy with the result
• apply Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) through a Layering Stencil (Schoolhouse) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
• stamp Stampendous Typewriter Note with Versafine (Onxy Black) and add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the portion containing the sentiment
• mix Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste with Distress Re-Inker (Peacock Feathers) and silver glitter and apply it through the Memory Box Splatter Spray stencil
• layer the panel on a piece of patterned paper from the Prima Marketing Almanac 6x6 paper pad and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
• stamp Kaisercraft Dictionary Meanings with Versafine (Vinatge Sepia) on a kraft cardbase for more interest

I love this Life

this is my card for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. This week we are using Tangelo Twist ... have fun!

• create a background using Distress Ink (Spiced Marmalade)
• apply water with the help of the Mini Ink Blending Tool through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Doily) and repeat the same step using Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink
• round the top right corner with a 1'' corner rounder
• stamp the sentiment from Kaiserkraft Blue Bay with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• cut the background panel apart and mat it on Distress Cardstock (Black Soot)
• cut out a butterfly, cover it with IndigoBlu FlitterGlu and adhere IndigoBlu Megaflake (Eton Mess) to create a foil finish
