Mixed Media Miss you

Hi there,

do you remember the Colorful Miss you Card I showed you last week? For this card I used the same Elizabeth Craft Designs supplies but with a totally different outcome:

  • cut out the Elizabeth Craft Designs from Elizabeth Craft Designs white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • color the outline with a grey Alcohol Marker
  • create a background on a piece of watercolor paper using gel medium, tissue paper and Distress Paint Seedless Preserves
  • ink up the edges with Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot
  • stamp the sentiment using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Morning Letters with Versamark onto a strip of black cardstock and heat-emboss them with WOW! Metallic Platinum embossing powder
  • add a strip of patterned paper to the left and right side of the panel before adhering it to the cardbase

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs,

Merry Christmas Mouse

Hi there,

this is my third creation using the new Karten-Kunst Viecher im Winter (Winter Critters) stamp set:

  • stamp the sweet little mouse from the Karten-Kunst Viecher im Winter set with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Derwent Drawing pencils
  • cut out a wonky stitched rectangle from confetti white cardstock and cut the sentiment from the Karten Kunst Kreistexte Ein frohes Weihnachtsfest from that panel as well
  • cut the sentiment again but this time from turquoise glitter cardstock
  • layer a piece of acetate behind the panel and puzzle the white little pieces back into the gaps to create that wonderful inlaid look
  • I used Multi Medium Matte here
  • add color to a white piece of cardstock with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass
  • cut out a little stitched hill-shape using one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Snow Drifts
  • create a christmasy background using the snowflakes from the same stamps set and Hero Arts Shadow Ink Silver
  • layer the panel on a piece of kraft cardstock before adhering it to a white cardbase

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas Bunny

Hi there,

today, I am using a super adorable new stamp set from the Karten-Kunst Shop called "Viecher im Winter" (Winter Critters):

  • stamp the sweet little bunny from the Karten-Kunst Viecher im Winter set with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Derwent Drawing pencils
  • add highlights with a white gel pen and Glossy Accents to its nose
  • cut out a stitched rectangle from confetti white cardstock and cut the sentiment from the Karten Kunst Kreistexte Ein frohes Weihnachtsfest from that panel as well
  • cut the sentiment again but this time from blue grey cardstock
  • layer a piece of acetate behind the panel and puzzle the white little pieces back into the gaps to create that wonderful inlaid look
  • I used Multi Medium Matte here
  • add some snowflakes to the acetate window using Nuvo Crystal Drops Gloss White - and let them dry thoroughly
  • before adhering the panel to a white cardbase we need to create that multi-layered background
  • add color to a white piece of cardstock with Distress Oxide Ink Salty Ocean and mist it with pearlized water
  • cut out the Poppy Stamps House in the Woods from confetti white cardstock and cut away the little house for we want to use the bunny as out focal point
  • cut a little hill shape from confetti white cardstock for the bunny to sleep on

I hope you got inspired.

Sunshine

Hi there,

join us over at the A Day for Daisies Blog for some lovely new images and the start of a new challenge:

  • color the adorable A Day for Daisies Little Dancer Rose with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a waterbrush
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut three Tattered Lace Tuck in Flowers from sturdy white cardstock and glue them onto a piece of Mixed Media paper using Multi Medium Matte and cover everything with gesso
  • color the background using Distress Paint (Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers)
  • add Inka Gold (Graphite, Turquoise) to the raised areas
  • use the script stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements stamp set and VersaMagic (Eggplant) to add more interest
  • cut out a stitched panel using the My Favorite Things Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
  • stamp the sentiment from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 with StazOn (Jet Black) onto a piece of tissue paper and glue it on with Multi Medium Matte - the tissue paper dries almost invisible and melts into the background - this is a great trick when your background doesn't allow a crisp stamped image
