ARTplorations Stencil Blog Hop

Hi there,

it's time for another ARTplorations Stencil Blog Hop over on the STAMPlorations Blog featuring eight new stencil designs by the wonderful Sanna and these are my projects:

  • cut out the largest CUTplorations Manila Tag from sturdy white cardstock and cover it with white gesso
  • add a base coat of color with Paper Artsy Infusions Rocky Road
  • add some tissue paper using soft matte gel
  • stamp elements from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set and the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set with Archival Ink Black Soot
  • apply foil transfer gel through the brand new ARTplorations Leaves 1 stencil and let it dry thoroughly
  • run the whole tag and a piece of turquoise foil through the Mini Minc or a laminator
  • after doing so I found out that the foil adheres to the soft matte gel as well - for this reason I had to use sandpaper to get rid of the foil where I didn't want it
  • use a black Stabilo All pencil to darken the edges of the tag
  • add some splatters with watered-down white acrylic paint
  • stamp the STAMPlorations Dogwood Large with Versafine Smokey Gray onto a piece of confetti white card stock and color the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • use hot glue to adhere the flowers over a layer of vellum and corrugated cardboard
  • dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Stain Dried Marigold and Tea Dye and thread it through the hole of the tag
  • add a sentiment sticker at the top left

  • cut out the largest of the CUTplorations Luggage Tags from sturdy white cardstock and cover it with white gesso
  • apply texture paste through the fabulous new ARTplorations Senecio 1 stencil and let it dry thoroughly
  • add color using watered-down Distress Crayons (Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Broken China)
  • add droplets with Color Bloom Tea Stain spray and little splatters with watered down graphite Stabilo All pencil
  • darken up the edges with the graphite Stabilo All pencils as well
  • stamp the giraffe from the STAMPlorations Tweet Love set and color it with Copic, Touch Twin Brush and Delta Markers
  • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black and add color to the sentiment strip with Distress Crayons (Spun Sugar, Broken China)
  • thread three strands of twine through the hole of the tag

Enjoy the rest of the hop. One winner will get a $20 gift certificate and two winners are allowed to choose three Sanna Lippert Designs stencils. The winners will be randomly drawn from comments left on the STAMPlorations blog and participating designers blogs. Commenting closes on December 4th, 2017.

Have a wonderful day.

Destination Happiness ATC

Hi there,

it is time for a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the Happy Little Stampers Blog and this time it is all about Collage:

  • I created some new ATC backgrounds and I explain the process in this previous post
  • afterwards I took some torn tissue paper strips and glued it to the ATC using matte medium for some interest in the background
  • apply some Minc Reactive Screen Ink through the ARTplorations Daisy Play stencil and let it dry thoroughly
  • I ran the ATC through my Mini Minc covered with Deco Foil (Pink Melon) just to realize that the foil seems to stick to the Prima Marketing Soft Matte Gel as well - this is why I had to scrape off some of the foiling to reveal the flowers
  • stamp the bubblewrap from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder and stamp it again with Archival Ink (Black Soot)
  • add some color to the edges using a Distress Crayon (Black Soot)
  • stamp the image from the Paper Artsy EKD03 set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color it with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • adhere the shape to the ATC and add the sentiment from the Tim Holtz Big Chat sticker set - color the edges of the sticker with Distress Crayon (Peacock Feathers)

Thanks for stopping by.

A Day for Daisies

Hi there,

this is kind of a sad occasion. This will be the last post on the a Day for Daisies Blog for quite some time and we all used our favorite images once again to honor Tammy's wonderful creations.

Today is the first day of our ADFD Blog Hop - a celebration of all of the beautiful images Tammy has created over the years. As a special surprise for Tammy, we have a combination of current and former DT members participating in the hop. Her art and generous heart have touched us all. We want to take a moment to show our gratitude and thank Tammy for the blessings and joys we have received as members of the ADFD DT.

Our theme is “A Collection of ADFD Favorites” - so each DT member’s blog you visit will share something she has created with one of her favorite ADFD images. The hop has hidden prizes - a commenter from each hidden prize stop will win a choice of one image from the ADFD Shop! You won’t know where the prizes are hidden, so be sure to leave a comment at each stop of the Hop! Our Blog Hop will run from 7:00 a.m. eastern standard time on Saturday, March 25, 2017 until 9:00 p.m. eastern standard time on Tuesday, March 27, 2017.

In addition to the Blog Hop, we invite you to share your Favorite ADFD image in the final ADFD Blog Challenge. The linky will stay open until Friday, March 3rd. All prize winners will be announced on the ADFD Blog on Saturday, March 4, 2017. We hope you will join our celebration of the thousands of images Tammy has created. Rules for the challenge are posted on the right sidebar of the ADFD Blog - the last spot of the stop! Are you ready to HOP?!?

  • color the adorable A Day for Daisies Sweet Dragon with Copic, Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
  • add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and Zest-it
  • draw in some little dots on his tail with a white gel pen
  • cover the larger dots with Glossy Accents for extra dimension
  • use the CUTplorations ATC Tag Builder die to cut an ATC from black cardstock
