Life in Bloom

Hi there,

this is just a quick reminder of this month's Stencil Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog:

  • add some color to a white canvas with Dylusions Paint
  • apply white embossing paste through the ARTplorations Happy Flowers and Dream Flowers stencils and let this layer dry thoroughly
  • add some color to the flowers with Distress Oxide Ink (Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Fossilized Amber, Forest Moss)
  • stamp the dot pattern from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with some turquoise embossing powder
  • adhere a sticker from the STAMPlorations Hello Spring set to a piece of Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock before layering it on sari silk ribbon and burlap
  • add some scribbly acrylic paint lines as finishing touch

Life is a Journey

Hi there,

this is a quick reminder for this month's Stencil Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog:

  • cut out one of the CUTplorations Stitched Tags from watercolor paper
  • add a background using Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar)
  • apply Distress Ink Black Soot through the ARTplorations Trees stencil
  • add splatters with Finetec Mica Watercolors Tibet Gold
  • use some hot glue to adhere several layers of sari silk ribbon and a sticker from the STAMPlorations Shine Bright sticker set
  • thread some torn sari silk ribbon through the hole of the tag

  • ink up the edges with Distress Oxide Ink Black Soot
  • cut out one of the CUTplorations Bloomdala Bliss Festive dies from black cardstock and cover the die cut with Prima Marketing Sweet Rose Wax
  • use hot glue to adhere burlap and sari silk ribbon underneath the die cut
  • add a sticker from the STAMPlorations New Day sticker set on top
  • thread some bast fibers through the hole of the tag

Enjoy the Ride

Hi there,

I wanted to keep this tag as masculine and simple as possible:

  • cut a CUTplorations Tag #1 from Perfect Colouring Paper
  • stamp the car and the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Enjoy the Ride set with Memento (Tuxedo Black)
  • color the image and the background with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • thread a piece of torn beige sari silk ribbon through the hole of the tag

Best Dad Tag

Hi there,

we are starting a new TAGplorations Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and this month it is All about Dad and the Optional Twist is Stencils:

  • cut out one of the CUTplorations Manila Tags from watercolor paper
  • create a background using Distress Inks (Broken China, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint)
  • add some water droplets for more texture
  • apply some Distress Ink (Walnut Stain) through the ARTplorations Foiled again Mini stencil and ink up the edges of the tag with that same ink as well
  • cut out the base of the CUTplorations Shaker Balloon #1 Heart directly from the tag and cut the other elements for a shaker from acetate and foam rubber
  • before closing the shaker add some Little Things from Lucy's Cards Fairy Dust 
  • add a balloon string and a little bow from natural twine
  • create the sentiment with the help of a Dymo Laber Maker
  • thread a piece of beige Sari Silk Ribbon through the hole of the tag

I created this Tag as a reminder for this month's STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge. So don't forget to upload your projects:

  • cover a pre-cut kraft tag with white gesso
  • apply Prima Marketing Modeling Paste through the ARTplorations Clustered Hearts stencil
  • add color using Distress Stains (Evergreen Bough, Shaded Lilac, Cracked Pistachio) and water from your Mister Bottle
  • grunge up the edges with Art Graf Aquarell-Grafit and a wet watercolor brush
  • add some turquoise foil here and there
  • adhere sari silk ribbon, burlap and one of the CUTplorations Bloomdala Bliss: Festive flowers cut from Tonic Luna Silver pearlescent cardstock

  • cover an art journal page cut from extra sturdy watercolor paper with white gesso
  • apply Prima Marketing Modeling Paste through the ARTplorations Ethnic Organic Two stencil and let it dry thoroughly
  • color the background with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals (Shabby Turbine Teal, Time Travel Teal)
  • add some more golden accents with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder
  • ink up the edges with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke
  • glue the photo of the turtle on top of some beige Sari Silk Ribbon
  • the sentiment is from the Big Chat sticker set

we are starting a new TAGplorations Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and this month it is All about Fall and the Optional Twist is Red, Gold and Orange:


  • cut out a CUTplorations Stitched Tag from kraft cardstock
  • apply Prima Marketing Modeling Paste through the ARTplorations Autumn Falling stencil and let this dry thoroughly
  • add color with watered-down orange and red acrylic paint
  • add some gold speckles with Distress Stain Tarnished Brass
  • dye a piece of torn seam binding with the leftover stain on your craft mat
  • back the tag up with a second tag cut with the same die
  • use hot glue to adhere a strip of burlap, sari silk ribbon, some berries and an acorn
  • cut out the CUTplorations Blessed word die from wood backed up with some washi tape and adhere it on top of the fabric

Love Cupcake

Hi there,

we are starting a new challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and this month the topic is "Paint it Red":



  • cut out a CUTplorations Manila Tag from watercolor paper and stamp the STAMPlorations Sketched: Cupcake with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • mask the cupcake and add color to the background with Altenew Crisp Ink (Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • add some water droplets for extra texture
  • stamp the Love from the STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies set and some ink splatters from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Altenew Crisp Ink (Pinkalicious, Rubellite, Razzleberry)
  • ink up the edges with the darkest pink
  • color the cupcake with Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer Pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • thread a piece of beige Sari Silk Ribbon through the hole of the tag

Fixstern - Fixed Star Tag

Hi there,

it is time for another Stencil Sunday and the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

  • cut out a tag using dies from the CUTplorations ATC/Tag Builder set and apply heavy white gesso through the ARTplorations Oh my Stars! Mini stencil - let this layer dry thoroughly
  • add color to the tag with the help of watered-down Distress Paint (Evergreen Bough, Weathered Wood, Iced Spruce)
  • draw a line around the edges with a black Stabilo All pencil and activate the color with a wet watercolor brush
  • add more texture to the background by stamping the numbers and the script from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set with Archival Ink (Black Soot)
  • let some Daler-Rowney Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic (Moon Violet) drip down the tag
  • stamp some stars from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Delicata (Silvery Shimmer)
  • create the word "Fixstern" (fixed star) with a Dymo Label Maker and adhere it to the tag on top of a piece of corrugated cardboard and a piece of sari silk ribbon
  • dye a piece of seam binding with that same violet liquid acrylic paint and rip it in half before threading it through the hole of the tag

Crackle Thanks

Hi there,

just a quick reminder of this month's TAGplorations Challenge - the Topic is All about Gratitude and the Optional Twist is Polka Dots:

  • cut a CUTplorations Manila Tag from an old gelli print and cover random areas with DecoArt Media white Crackle Paste - let this dry thoroughly
  • use a black Stabilo All Pencil around the edges and on the crackle to darken things up
  • cut the CUTplorations thanks from another piece of that gelli print and add some texture by stamping the STAMPlorations Bloomtangled #2 with Versafine (Onyx Black)
  • apply some Distress Oxide Ink (Peacock Feathers) through the ARTplorations Dots all over stencil
  • stamp some letters from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set with Distress Oxide Ink (Black Soot) onto the background
  • glue the thanks onto a piece of ripped corrugated board inked up with Distress Oxide Ink (Peacock Feathers)
  • thread some beige Sari Silk Ribbon through the hole of the tag

Be Free ATC

Hi there,

it is time for another Stencil Sunday and the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

  • cut out an ATC from sturdy white cardstock with the help of one of the dies from the CUTplorations ATC/Tag Builder set
  • adhere vintage book paper to the front of the card and cover it with a thin layer of white gesso
  • color the page with a sprinkle of Paper Artsy Infusions (Violet Storm)
  • apply Texture Paste through the ARTplorations Old Rose Prints Mini stencil and let it dry thoroughly
  • color the beautiful roses with Paper Artsy Infusions (Lemoncello)
  • add black Stabilo All pencil around the edges and activate the color with a wet watercolor brush
  • add some texture with the dot pattern from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set and Archival Ink (Black Soot)
  • draw in some dots with a white paint marker
  • stamp the sentiment from the STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 set with Archival Ink (Black Soot) onto a thick piece of kraft cardstock (I just glued two layers on top of each other) and grunge up the piece with black Stabilo All pencil and splatters of white gesso
  • use hot glue to adhere the sentiment strip on top of corrugated cardboard and a torn piece of sari silk ribbon

Hello Flower Tag

Hi there,

I have a new project on the Stamping-Fairies Blog for you today. I played with some new Alcohol Ink Colors and Compressed Air:

  • cut a tag from Yupo and use some Alcohol Inks (Juniper, Flamingo, Limeade, Willow) and Compressed Air to create a loose flower background
  • draw in some outlines and a sketched frame around the tag using a black Fude Ball Pen
  • add dots to the center of the flowers with that same black pen and a golden gel pen
  • cut the "Hello" from the My Favorite Things Hellothere die set once from pink cardstock and once from black cardstock
  • foil the bottom part of the sentiment with the help of the DecoFoil Adhesive Pen and Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Foil (Pink Gold Ombre)
  • glue the black sentiment slightly offset on top of the pink sentiment
  • thread a piece of matching Sari Silk Ribbon through the hole of the tag
