Flower Triangle Box

Hi there,

this is my first post as a Design Team Member of Elizabeth Craft Designs and today we are releasing some brand new products in the ModaScrap line:

• cut out the Elizabeth Craft Designs Triangle Box from watercolor paper and cover the whole surface with white gesso
• cut out the Elizabeth Craft Designs Romantic Bouquet from a piece of leftover cardstock and use it as a stencil
• apply texture paste through this flower stencil and let this layer dry thoroughly
• add color using Distress Paints (Salty Ocean, Evergreen Bough)
• add some splatters using watered-down Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint Concrete
• assemble the box using Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive 6mm
• ink up the edges of the box with Distress Ink Evergreen Bough and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink Salty Ocean and use it to close the box
• highlight the raised areas with Prima Marketing Metallique Wax Brushed Iron

Home Grown ATC

Hi there,

it is time for another Stencil Sunday and the start of the February Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

• cut out an ATC from sturdy white cardstock using the CUTplorations ATC/Tag Builder die 
• use an old gift card to apply two colors of Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint (Dolly Mix, Concrete)
• add a frame around the painted rectangle with a black PITT Artist Pen
• apply Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paint (Amethyst) through the ARTplorations Daisy Dance stencil
• stamp the daisies from the STAMPlorations Bloom Sketches set with My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink (Black Licorice)
• add more texture by stamping the alphabet from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set with Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black)
• stamp the dot pattern from the same set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Birght White Super Fine embossing powder
• use a sticker to add the sentiment

Insect Hotel

Hi there,

it is Stencil Sunday and the start of the new monthly challenge over at the STAMPlorations Blog:

• my son built this fabulous little insect hotel and I had the honor to add some color to it
• cover the roof with Paper Artsy Fresco Acrylic Paint (Turqouise) and the sides with grey chalkpaint
• apply Distress Paint (Mustard Seed) through the ARTplorations Honecomb Delight stencil and doodle around each hexagon with a sepia PITT Artist Pen
• embellish the roof with the help of Distress Paint (Mermaid Lagoon) and the ARTplorations Peonies All Over stencil
• sponge Distress Ink (Twisted Citron) through the ARTplorations Leaf Prints stencil

Keep some room in your Heart

Hi there,

we are starting a new challenge over at the A Day for Daisies Blog and the topic is "add pearls or beads". I decided to go with microbeads on my creation:

• color the A Day for Daisies Mermaid Vintage White Lingerie with Delta, Touch Twin and DIY Markers
• cove a Manila Tag with gesso and create a background using Gelatos (Fig, Elderberry, Metallic Icing)
• since the Gelatos are water-reactive I covered this layer with clear gesso to avoid smudging
• stamp JOFY Mini 16 with Memento Luxe (Sweet Plum) several times and color the circles with Peerless Watercolor and a waterbrush
• cut some drywall tape into circles and add them with Multi Medium Matte for more texture
• apply Texture Paste through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Bubbles) 
• mix Glazing Liquid with Fresco Finish Paint (Dolly Mix) and apply the mixture over the tag, let dry for a little bit and swipe it away with a damp baby wipe; repeat the same process with Distress Paint (Chipped Sapphire)
• dye a piece of seam binding with the rest of the acrylic paint left on the craft sheet
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire)
• add the sentiment using a Small Talk sticker and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
• apply some transparent liquid glue around the sentiment and add silver metallic microbeads
• ink up the edges randomly with Versamark and heat-emboss them with Ranger Sticky enbossing powder; add Ranger Shiny Foil Transfer Sheets (Vintage) as a finishing touch

Hugs Door Hanger

Hi there,

this time we would like you to use some paint on your Mixed Media project for our Happy Little Stampers February Mixed Media Challenge:

• cover a wooden door hanger with grey chalk paint and let this coat dry thoroughly
• apply Fresco Finish Paint (Turquoise) as a second layer and let dry also
• sand the edges in order to let the wood and the grey come through again
• stamp the large dots from the Dina Wakley Textures stamp set with the same turquoise paint for a subtle background
• stamp the butterfly and some flowers from the JOFY Collections 09, 11 and 24 with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel) and heat-emboss everything with clear embossing powder
• color the images with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a damp brush
• add some Stickles (Glisten, Cool Mint)
• cut out the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hugs twice from Grunge Paper and layer one on top of the other
• color the sentiment with Distress Paint (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers) for an ombre finish - cover the sentiment with a coat of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter

Gift Wrap Tissue

Hi there,

I created this gift wrap tissue for this week's Stencil Sunday and the start of the January Mixed Media Challenge on the STAMPlorations Blog:

• create a background on Canvas Corp Tissuestock using a brayer and Distress Paints (Festive Berries, Abandoned Coral, Evergreen Bough, Cracked Pistachio)
• stamp the STAMPlorations Texturized: Big Numbers Background with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel)
• apply Fresco Finish Paint (Chalk) through the ARTplorations Fearless Large stencil and Distress Paint (Brushed Pewter) through the ARTplorations Oh my Stars! stencil
• as the final layer spritz Dylusions Ink Spray (Vibrant Turquoise) through the ARTplorations Leaf Bliss Large stencil and press the stencil onto another part of the tissue paper in order to use up all the ink
• cut the tissue paper in half and wrap one piece around a present

• create a shadow tag from patterned paper from the Simple Stories Hello Baby 6x6 paper pad
• create a background on watercolor paper by applying Fresco Acrylic Paint (Chalk) through the Scrapberry's Petals Pattern stencil - this will create a resist
• apply Distress Ink (Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord) over the entire panel
• thread Prima Marketing Jute Trim Wheat through the holes of the tags

• cover a Manila Tag #8 with white gesso and use gel medium to add pieces of tissue wrap (Melange)
• apply a base with Distress Paint (Tumbled Glass) and Fresco Finish Paint (Concrete)
• cut a paper stencil from Winnie & Walter Scenery: Big Bang Confetti Cut Files and apply silver tinted (Distress Paint Brushed Pewter) texture paste through it
• stamp Kaisercraft Script with StazOn (Cloudy Sky) into random spots and also press the stamp into the paste to achieve even more texture
• stamp stars from Winnie & Walter Scenery: Big Bang Confetti with Delicata (Shimmery Silver)
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Broken China, Gathered Twigs)
• add Inka Gold (Silver) to the stars and some border areas
• cut the deer from Winnie & Walter The Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1: Holiday Mint Add-On  from Grungepaper and color it with Distress Paint (Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain); cover the deer with gel medium and sprinkle it with Distress Glitter (Clear Rock Candy) for just a hint of sparkle
• rub a little Distress Paint (Tumbled Glass) and Inka Gold (Silver) over a strip ofd birch bark and use it to ground the deer
• cut the word winter from Winnie & Walter The Daily Grind Collection Vol. 1: Holiday Mint Add-On and cover the white cardstock with Distress Paint (Tumbled Glass) and Fresco Finish Paint (Concrete); ink the edges with Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) and randomly add Martha Stewart Multi-Surface Glitter (Sugar Cube) to the sentiment
• use the Tiny Attacher to adhere a piece of burlap ribbon
• I used my brand new cordless hot glue gun to adhere the elements to the tag

a friend asked me to create a gift for her daughter's birthday. Here is the result:

• create a background from scratch on a white gessoed canvas using Distress Paints, Fresco Acrylic Paints, tissue paper, stencils, bubble wrap and embossing powder
• stamp the cute little Cat Portraits from Hero Arts with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock and color them with Winsor & Newton watercolors
• finish everything with same paint splatters, inked edges, sequins and a sparkling title
