Stamp Connection #30

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. From this month on we are switching to the 2nd Sunday of the month and this is our 30th transatlantic get-together!

Our requirement for this meet-up was:
Halloween

And since dimensional cards are still all the rage, I created this shadow-box card:
  • cut a shadow-box card base from black cardstock
  • use a die from the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider set to cut an opening into the box base
  • cut out three hills from green cardstock with the help of the My Favorite Things Stitched Snow Drifts
  • create a background using Distress Oxide Ink (Seedless Preserves), Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and Pearlized Water
  • cut out the Tim Holtz Cobweb from white cardstock and little tree trunks with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Tree Borders from dark brown cardstock
  • stamp the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Fab-Boo-lous Friends with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • now it's time to fully assemble the shadow-box card
  • stamp some of the adorable creatures from My Favorite Things Fab-Boo-lous Friends set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color them with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • use a white gel pen to add some highlights
  • use double-sided adhesive to secure them on the card
  • stamp the little spider with Versafine (Onyx Black) and use a strip of sturdy acetate and a piece of silver thread to let her hang down the top left corner

Now make sure to hop over to see Cornelia's Creation.

Thanks for stopping by. We hope to see you again at the ...

Yours,
