Happy Birthday Owl

Hi there,

I would like to show you some projects using the adorable new Gerda Steiner Designs stamp sets over the next couple of weeks. This first card uses one of the owls from the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl rather be set:

  • color one of the owls and a branch from the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl rather be set with Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper and stamp three balloons from the Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Hoppy set with Versafine Smokey Gray 
  • color the balloons and the background with Distress Oxide Re-Inkers (Peacock Feathers, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass)
  • stamp the sentiment from the Gerda Steiner Designs Happy Hoppy set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Primary Parma Violet
  • layer the watercolor panel on top of a piece of Distress Cardstock Dusty Concord before adhering it to a cardbase
  • glue on some natural twine as balloon strings

Relax

Hi there,

I created this camping card for Elizabeth Craft Designs:

  • cut out a base from smooth white cardstock using one of the ModaScrap Dashing Squares
  • create clouds, hills and grass with the help of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges die set
  • add color with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap, Tumbled Glass) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • stamp the sentiment from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Beach Sentiments set with Versafine Clair Morning Mist
  • stamp the trailer from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Camping out set with that same grey ink and color the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils
  • add all the layers to a white cardbase

You are mermazing

Hi there,

I created this mermazing card for the Stamping-Fairies Facebook Group:

  • stamp only the mermaid tail from one of the mermaids in the My Favorite Things Mermazing set with Versafine Smokey Gray
  • color the tail with Ecoline Brush Pens and a Glitter Pen - add scales with a grey fineliner
  • cut a frame into a smooth white cardstock panel with the help of one of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Frame it Stitched Squares
  • add some interest by adding strips cut using the Paper Smooches Snow Drifts
  • add color to the waves with Distress Oxide Ink Broken China and to the sky with Distress Oxide Ink Tumbled Glass and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • mist the sky and the waves with Pearlized Water and add some Cosmic Shimmer Gunmetal 
  • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Altenew Crisp Ink Teal Cave
  • adhere all the layers to a dark grey cardbase

Stay Warm

Hi there,

we are starting a new Challenge over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog and this time it is all about Christmas Fun with Character Dies:

  • cut out the adorable little Elizabeth Craft Designs Polar Bear and the sheet of ice from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Igloo die set from white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • add color with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers, add highlights to the eyes with a white gel pen and draw in the snout with a black PITT Artist Pen
  • use white Liquid Applique to create texture on the pompon of the cap
  • create a background on a kraft cardbase using the stars and snowflakes from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Cute Winter Sentiments set, Versamark and WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing glitter
  • add a Yupo strip colored with Alcohol Inks (Aqua, Pool, Mermaid, Silver Mixative) to the left side of the card and stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Archival Ink Watering Can

You're really awesome

Hi there,

I created this cute lion card for the Stamping-Fairies Facebook Group:

  • stamp the lion, some leaves and the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Safari Friends set with My Favorite Things Extreme Black
  • color the images with Copic, Touch Twin Brush and Delta Markers
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut along the edge of the panel with one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Edges dies
  • layer a piece of patterned paper from the Maja Design Walking in the Forest 6x6 paper pad behind the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

Christmas in August

Hi there,

did you see the fabulous new Joset dies and stamps over on Elizabeth Craft Designs? If not, we prepared a blog hop full of ideas and inspiration for you:

  • cut out one of the brand new Elizabeth Craft Designs Winter Ornaments and the Elizabeth Craft Designs Small Poinsettia from Elizabeth Craft Designs white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • color all the elements with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • add extra shading to the petals with PanPastels
  • use the Susan's Garden Tool Set to shape the flower
  • thread natural twine through the hole of the ornament
  • cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper using one of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles
  • create a background using Distress Paints (Weathered Wood, Evergreen Bough) and Crackle Paste Platinum
  • stamp the sentiment from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Classic Christmas Sentiments with Archival Ink Watering Can
  • mat the panel onto a kraft cardbase




And this is my second project:

  • cut out the Elizabeth Craft Designs Santa Claus and the presents from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Santa's Sleigh die set from white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • color all the elements with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • add the eyes with a black gel pen and highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut out one of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Frame it Stitched Circles from Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock
  • stamp the sentiment and some snowflakes form the Elizabeth Craft Designs Cute Winter Sentiments set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • create a sky background on watercolor paper with the help of Distress Oxide Inks (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • add some water droplets for more texture
  • cut out a hill shape using one of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges
  • cover the opening with a piece of acetate and create a shaker element using a double layer of foam adhesive
  • fill the shaker element with sequins 
  • close the shaker with the background panel and adhere everything to a dark kraft cardbase

Stamp Connection #40

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 2nd Sunday of the month and this is our 40th transatlantic get-together!

Our requirement for this meet-up was:
"Beach"


  • create the Pop-up Box card from kraft cardstock
  • create a background and some side panels from watercolor paper with the help of Distress Ink (Tumbled Class, Salty Ocean) and the My Favorite Things Cloud and Make Waves stencil
  • stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Aloha set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder
  • cut the landscape with the help of the My Favorite Things Stitched Snowdrifts, the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border and the My Favorite Things Picket Fence die
  • stamp most of the images from the Lawn Fawn Life is good set with Memento Tuxedo Black and color them with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
  • adhere all the elements using different sizes of glue dots

I created this fun elephant card for the Stamping-Fairies Facebook Group:

  • stamp the adorable little elephant from the My Favorite Things Safari Friends set three times on top of each other with Versafine Clair Morning Mist - use the Masking Technique
  • add three leaves and the sentiment from the same stamp set with the same grey ink
  • color the image with Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • color the background with Distress Re-Inker (Tumbled Glass, Pumice Stone)
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • adhere the watercolor panel to a grey cardbase

Happy Birthday Donut

Hi there,

since I really want to practice freehand painting a bit more often, here is another watercolor card I created for Elizabeth Craft Designs:

  • paint a donut using watercolors
  • add in some frosting and splatters with white gouache
  • cut out the Elizabeth Craft Designs Happy Birthday from Elizabeth Craft Designs Smooth White Cardstock covered with Elizabeth Craft Designs clear double-sided adhesive
  • sprinkle the sentiment with Elizabeth Craft Designs Brushed Pewter Silk Microfine Glitter
  • add a strip of patterned paper from the ModaScrap Color of Puppies Girl 6x6 paper pad before adhering the panel to a white cardbase
