A Merry Christmas Day

Hi there,

for this Christmas Card I used one of my all-time favorites - the Gerda Steiner Designs Snowman Friends stamp set:

  • stamp two of the snowmen from the Gerda Steiner Designs Snowman Friends set with Distress Ink Iced Spruce - use the masking technique
  • color the images and the background with watercolors
  • add little white dots with white gouache
  • add a sticker from the Tim Holtz Clippings Christmas set
  • before adhering the watercolor panel to a cardbase add strips of patterned paper to the top and bottom

Advent

Hi there,

I would like to show you this fun card right on time for the beginning of the Advent Season:

  • stamp the sentiment from the Karten-Kunst Advent Advent set and the candle from the Karten-Kunst Mini Frames Christmas set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the images with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers
  • add strips of glitter paper and of patterned paper to the left and right side of the panel before adhering it to a cardbase

Candy-Striped Christmas

Hi there,

I created this square Christmas Card with a DIY watercolor stripes background for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • cut out a square panel of watercolor paper
  • use two colors of the Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer pencils and a ruler to draw on some diagonal lines
  • activate the color with a damp paintbrush
  • ink up the edges of the panel with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers
  • cut out the Karten-Kunst Mini-Rahmen Frohes Fest from silver foiled cardstock and adhere it in the center of the background panel
  • add it to a cardbase and adhere silver sequins as final embellishments

In the Woods

Hi there,

I created this Winter Scene Card using the adorable Anjas Basteltraum Rentierpost stamp set:

  • stamp the reindeer and the carrots from the Anjas Basteltraum Rentierpost set set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the images with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
  • cut out one of the Spellbinders Essential Arches from blue cardstock and partially emboss the panel with the Sizzix Winter Foliage embossing folder
  • ink up the edges with Distress Ink Black Soot
  • stamp the sentiment from the Anjas Basteltraum Kleine Weihnachtspost set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Metallic Silver embossing powder
  • cut out another slightly larger Spellbinders Essential Arch from watercolor paper
  • add color with Distress Ink (Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire)
  • cut out four birch trees with the help of the Technique Tuesday Birch Borders and color them with alcohol markers
  • add a hill to the bottom of the background and ink up the top edge with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass
  • assemble the scene and splatter it with watered-down white gouache
  • add the embossed frame and the focal images and your little winter scene is ready

Little Snowman Shaker

Hi there,

I created this sweet snowman shaker tag using the Gerda Steiner Designs Little Snowman Stamp set:

  • cut out a tag from smooth white cardstock using the My Favorite Things Tag Builder Blueprints 6 die set 
  • stamp the sweet snowman from the Gerda Steiner Designs Little Snowman set with Lawn Fawn Jellyfish
  • color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
  • mask the image and add color to the background using Distress Ink Uncharted Mariner
  • build a shaker element using the My Favorite Things Tag Builder Blueprints 6 die set, acetate, double-sided foam adhesive, patterned paper and sequins
  • add two strands of twine through the hole of the tag

Christmas Tree Shaker

Hi there,

I created this Christmas Tree Shaker Card for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • create a background on smooth white cardstock using a hill stencil and Distress Ink (Stormy Sky, Uncharted Mariner)
  • stamp some snowflakes from the Karten-Kunst Viecher im Winter set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • stamp one of the trees from the Karten-Kunst Abstrakte Tannen set several times with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Metallic Platinum Super Fine embossing powder
  • add color with Distress Ink (Bundled Sage, Pine Needles)
  • cut out the tress and adhere them to the background panel
  • build a shaker element using the background panel, the Karten Kunst DIN lang with Stitches Outside dies, the Karten-Kunst Stitched DIN lang dies, kraft cardstock, acetate, double-sided foam adhesive and sequins
  • stamp the sentiment and a heart from the Karten-Kunst Abstrakte Tannen set with Versamark onto a strip of kraft cardstock and heat-emboss them with WOW! Metallic Platinum Super Fine embossing powder

Sentiment Christmas Tree 2.0

Hi there,

I took last week's Sentiment Christmas Tree idea a step further and came up with these two projects:

  • stamp some of the Karten-Kunst Weihnachten Modern sentiments onto strips of pink and turquoise cardstock
  • use Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • create a background on watercolor paper using Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry, Evergreen Bough)
  • add some splatters with that some watered-down Distress Inks and Finetec Mica Watercolors in Moon Gold
  • use a strip of grass cardstock as tree trunk 
  • add a glittery star at the top of the tree

Gingerbread House

Hi there,

I created this sweet Christmas Card using the Anjas Basteltraum Lebkuchenbäckerei and Knusperhäuschen Sprüche stamp sets:

  • stamp the gingerbread house and the mouse from the Anjas Basteltraum Lebkuchenbäckerei set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the images with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
  • add glitter to the gum drops and cotton batting to the chimney
  • stamp the cookies from the Anjas Basteltraum Knusperhäuschen Sprüche set with Distress Oxide Ink Gathered Twigs repeatedly onto a kraft cardbase
  • ink up the edges with that same brown ink
  • add some shading to the stamped background using a brown colored pencil
  • cut out some pine branches from green kraft cardstock and add them as a frame
  • use some woodgrain cardstock as a ground at the bottom of the card

Feline the Holiday Spirit, yet?

I created this sweet Christmas Card using the brand new Gerda Steiner Designs Furry & Bright stamp set:

  • stamp the image from the Gerda Steiner Designs Furry & Bright set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
  • run a background panel through your Big Shot in the We R Memory Keepers Spotted embossing folder
  • stamp the sentiment from the same set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Metallic Silver embossing powder
  • ink up the edges of the panel with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire, Black Soot) and splatter it with watered-down white gouache
  • add a strip of kraft cardstock and the image on top

  • stamp one of the gnomes from the Karten-Kunst Wichtelgrüße set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
  • create a postcard using kraft cardstock, a white gel pen, a ruler and a brown fineliner
  • add a washi postage stamp
  • stamp the sentiment from the same set and some hearts from Karten-Kunst Abstrakte Tannen set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • add some faux stitching and some dots with a white gel pen
  • adhere the kraft panel to a cardbase covered with patterned paper

Sentiment Christmas Tree

Hi there,

I created this sentiment Christmas Tree for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • grab the Karten-Kunst Weihnachten Modern set and sort the different sentiments according to their length
  • arrange the stamps in your MISTI, stamp them with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder
  • add some splatters with watered-down Finetec Mica Watercolors in Tibet Gold
  • add a strip of gold foiled cardstock to the left and right of the panel before adhering it to a cardbase

Merry little Christmas

Hi there,

I created this sweet card using all kinds of smaller images from the Anjas Basteltraum Lebkuchenbäckerei and Weihnachtsbiber stamp sets:

  • stamp the little Christmas Tree from the Anjas Basteltraum Lebkuchenbäckerei set with Lawn Fawn Jet Black
  • color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and dimension and shine with Nuvo White Blizzard and Morning Dew
  • create a background on a panel of white cardstock using the smaller images from the Anjas Basteltraum Lebkuchenbäckerei and Weihnachtsbiber stamp sets and Altenew Crisp Ink Mountain Mist
  • cut out two Lawn Fawn Mini Wreaths from colored cardstock, add highlights with a white gel pen and shine with Nuvo Morning Dew
  • add splatters of watered-down white gouache to a turquoise cardbase and adhere the main panel on top
  • cut out the Lawn Fawn Merry Christmas Border from colored cardstock and add it as a sentiment
