Savings Box

Hi there,

today, I have a cute Mixed Media project to share with you for our STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge:

• cover a cat-shaped ceramic savings box with tissue paper using multi medium matte
• add a coat of gesso on top of that
• apply an even coat of aqua-colored chalk paint
• water down Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint (Umber) in order to give the cat an aged look
• add some sparkling highlights using Inka Gold (Turquoise)
• draw in the eyes, nose and mouth with a black PITT Artist Pen and add details with a white gel pen
• add the whiskers made from grey twine hardened with Glossy Accents
• stamp the circles from STAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel) for more texture
• trace one of the butterflies from the ARTplorations Shower of Flutters stencil on vellum and cut it out
• stamp one of the butterflies from the STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies set with Versamark on that piece of vellum and heat-emboss it with Platinum embossing powder
