Stamp Connection #3

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our third transatlantic get-together!

Our requirements this time were:
"Father's Day and Bird/Birds"

This time Cornelia picked the requirements and I have to admit they were a real challenge for me because I found out that I do not really have bird stamps and since I assumed that Cornelia would create something using the Bird Crazy set I wanted to make something colorful and fun, too. Here is the result and it even is a one layer card, which always seem to be the most difficult for me:

• stamp the "with love" part from Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings with Versafine (Onyx Black) and complete the swirly line with another stamp from the same set
• stamp the birds and the balloon strings from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and add balloons using the double circle from Neat & Tangled Dala Horse and a black PITT Artist Pen
• color the images with Delta Markers
• add letters from Lawn Fawn Sally's ABCs to the balloons to create the word "Papa" ("Daddy")
• apply Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon) through the Scrapberry's Mini-Hearts stencil and create an ombre effect
• ink up the edges of the card with Distress Ink (Mermaid Lagoon)
