it's Inspiration Week over at Mennys Bastelshop and this week's topic is "Paper Piecing". I chose the beautiful Impronte d'Autore Hula 1 stamp set for my Mixed Media tag project:
- stamp the girl and some flowers from the Impronte d'Autore Hula 1 set with Gina K. Designs Obsidian
- color the image with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers, add extra shading with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and highlights with a white gel pen
- stamp the girl on patterned paper and cut out the dress
- layer it on top of the colored image and add shading with Spectrum Noir Triblend Markers and Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils
- cover a tag with tissue paper and a paper doily
- add color with acrylic paints and a brayer
- splatter the tag with watered-down white acrylic paint
- for more texture stamp the Karten-Kunst Script Background with Archival Ink Watering Can
- ink up the edges of the tag with Distress Ink Walnut Stain
- dye a piece of torn seam binding with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain, Dusty Concord)
- thread the seam binding and two strands of twine through the hole of the tag
Hugs,
