Hi there,

today, we a starting a new Mixed Media Challenge over at Happy Little Stampers:

 

• create a background on watercolor paper using Jaxon Aquarelle watercolors
• stamp some snowflakes from the Personal Impressions Let it Snow-flakes set with Color Box Chalk Ink (Blue Iris)
• use some stamps from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set and Archival Ink (Watering Can) to add more texture
• tear a strip of vellum, stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together set with Versamark and heat-emboss it with Ranger Watering Can embossing powder
• stamp the penguin from the same Lawn Fawn set and the cap from the Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins set with Versafine (Onyx Black) and color the images with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and Zest-it
• add Liquid Applique to the pompon of the cap

Little Star

Hi there,

here is a one-layer card for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• stamp the cute little reindeer and the sentiment from Unity Stamp Company Oh Little Star with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) on a kraft cardbase
• color the image with Distress Markers (Tattered Rose, Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Festive Berries, Fired Brick) and a waterbrush
• add Stickles (Christmas Red) and white gel pen to the nose, Stickles to the tiny heart and Delicata (Golden Glitz) to the little star; to use the ink from the ink pad like paint, just press the inkpad on an acrylic block and use a waterbrush to pick up the color and transfer it to the image
• stamp the beautiful snowflakes from Personal Impressions Snowflakes with Delicata (Silvery Shimmer) as a background
• after having a closer blook at the finished project, I realised that the sentiment was not completely straight - things like this drive the perfectionist in me a bit crazy but I liked the card too much to start over - what would you do?

this is my second card for today, if you are also interested in a cute little bauble shaker card, click here.

It's probably no surprise for you - I have another Christmas card that I would like to show you:

• cut a panel from watercolor paper
• stamp the snowflakes from Personal Impressions Snowflakes with Versamark and heat-emboss with clear embossing powder
• color the panel with Distress Inks (Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany) and mist it with pearlized water - the embossed areas will resist the ink and the mist
• cut out rectangles, mat the panel on silver glitter cardstock and readhere the rectangles slightly offset with clear dimensional tape
• cover the tiles with Glossy Accents
• stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Vertikale Worte II on vellum with Versamark and heat-emboss with WOW! Metallic Silver embossing powder

since I have fours cats, I can never say no to a cute cat stamp.

• stamp Heindesign Katze mit großer Mütze on white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black and color with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it; add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the white parts and Stickles Christmas Red to the red parts
• stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Making Frosty Friends on a strip of vellum and heat-emboss with WOW! Vintage Peacock embossing powder
• create a background strip on watercolor paper using Distress Ink (Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany) and pearlized water
• stamp Personal Impressions Snowflakes with Versamark and heat-embosss with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• use white cardstock as a base and round the top right corner with a 1'' corner rounder
• adhere some sequins as final embellishments (Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Sparkling Clear, Neat & Tangled Winter Wonderland Sequin Mix)
