it is time for the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

• cover a canvas with white gesso
• glue on some gell-printed tissue paper scraps with gel medium
• add some color with Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paints
• apply some Glass Bead Gel through the ARTplorations Leaf Prints Mini stencil
• grunge up the edges with a black Stabilo All Pencil
• add some marks using black and white acrylic paint
• adhere the sentiment with gel medium and outline it with a black Fude Ball Pen
• add some white and magenta splatters as finishing touch

Hello Flower Tag

Hi there,

I have a new project on the Stamping-Fairies Blog for you today. I played with some new Alcohol Ink Colors and Compressed Air:

• cut a tag from Yupo and use some Alcohol Inks (Juniper, Flamingo, Limeade, Willow) and Compressed Air to create a loose flower background
• draw in some outlines and a sketched frame around the tag using a black Fude Ball Pen
• add dots to the center of the flowers with that same black pen and a golden gel pen
• cut the "Hello" from the My Favorite Things Hellothere die set once from pink cardstock and once from black cardstock
• foil the bottom part of the sentiment with the help of the DecoFoil Adhesive Pen and Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Foil (Pink Gold Ombre)
• glue the black sentiment slightly offset on top of the pink sentiment
• thread a piece of matching Sari Silk Ribbon through the hole of the tag

Believe in yourself - Video Tutorial

it's time for another Video Tutorial over at the STAMPlorations Blog. I am going to show you how to create this Art Journal Page:

• cover an art journal page cut from extra sturdy watercolor paper with white gesso
• create a background using Dylusions Paints (Lemon Zest, Squeezed Orange, Fresh Lime)
• apply Dylusions Paint (Lemon Zest) through the ARTplorations Bubble Dance stencil and Dylusions Paint (Fresh Lime) through the ARTplorations Botanical Lush stencil
• stamp the script from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set with Memento Luxe (Morocco) and the little paint splatters from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black) for more texture
• draw in some flower shapes with a black Fude Ball Pen and cover the rest of the page with black gesso - smudge the edges with a baby wipe
• sketch in some outlines with a white Dylusions Paint Pen and add handwriting with a white gel pen
• water down some white gesso and add some splatters
• ink up the edges with embossing ink and heat-emboss them with Zing! embossing powder (Butter, Leaf)
• use a sticker from the Ideaology Small Talk set as the sentiment

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our 11th transatlantic get-together!

Our requirement for this meet-up was:
"Recycle"

• cut out a tag from sturdy white cardstock using the Sizzix Tag Collection
• cover the tag with tissue paper using Multi Medium Matte - the tissue paper is my recycled item: the fox stamp set I am using on this tag was wrapped in it
• add a layer of gesso on top of the lovely polka dot tissue paper
• add some color to the background using Distress Paints (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage)
• stamp two circles from the Neat & Tangled Dala Horse stamp set with Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black) and draw in stems and leaves with a black Fude Ball Pen
• add coarse texture paste to the flowers and let it dry thoroughly
• color the flowers and leaves with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a waterbrush
• stamp the cute little fox from The Ton Hey Foxy with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the image with Delta and Touch Twin Markers
• stamp the sentiment from Altenew Label Love with Versafine (Onyx Black) and the DIY Stamp Positioner on a piece of leftover gold-foiled cardstock and adhere it with the help of the Tiny Attacher
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire) and thread it through the hole of the tag
• ink up the edges with the same ink color

today, we are starting a new Mixed Media Challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog and I would like to show you another page of my STAMPlorations Mixed Media Art Journal:

• cut a panel from very sturdy watercolor paper (425 g/qm), cover it with gesso and punch two holes at the left side
• create a background using Distress Paints (Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, Dusty Concord) - add Distress Paint (Brushed Pewter) on top using a baby wipe
• apply Distress Paint (Hickory Smoke) over the ARTplorations Floral Mania mask
• stamp flowers from the STAMPlorations Vignette: Eclectic Florals with Memento Luxe (Wedding Dress)
• cover a piece of watercolor paper with Distress Paints (Seedless Preserves, Worn Lipstick, Bundled Sage, Evergreen Bough) and spritz it with a bit of water for more texture 
• cut out a flower and two leaves using the Little B Bouquet dies from this paper panel and ink up the edges with Distress Inks (Evergreen Bough, Dusty Concord)
• draw in a stem with a black Fude Ball Pen
• stamp the sentiment from STAMPlorations Bold Sentiments: Discover with Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black) and add borders using the STAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker with the same ink color

this is my mixed media project for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, grey, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

This week we are using Island Indigo, Rich Razzelberry, Tangelo Twist & Daffodil Delight  ... have fun!

• cut a tag from watercolor paper and add tissue wrap (Idea-ology Melange and Terminology) in random spots using gel medium
• add Distress Paint (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire) over a layer of gesso
• color Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste with the same paint colors and apply it through my brand new Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Stars)
• cut out the silhouette from Julie Nutting Buff patterned paper and color the image with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush; adhere it to the tag and shade with Stamper's Big Brush Pens
• add some texture stamping using Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink (Watering Can) and Flamingo-Art J-652
• for the next layer apply Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Schoolhouse)
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Mustard Seed, Walnut Stain)
• create a sentiment strip with the help of an old typewriter and cut the strip apart; ink it with Distress Ink (Old Paper, Vintage Photo) and adhere the parts to the tag
• dye a wood veneer star with Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) and add it to the hair
• add some doodles with the Fude Ball Pen (black)
• color a white ribbon in matching Distress Ink colors (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Aged Mahogany) and tie a bow through the hole of the tag
