Happy Birthday Octopus

Hi there,

I would like to show you this fun underwater Birthday Card as inspiration for the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS Challenge:

  • stamp the octopus from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea set and color the image with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers and add some extra shading with Jane Davenport Magic Wand Pencils
  • create a background on a stitched panel of watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Inks (Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China)
  • cut out algae from watercolor paper using one of the Joy Crafts Under the Sea dies and color it with Distress Oxide Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Broken China)
  • stamp the sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Stamps Wild Thing set with Versafine (Onyx Black) and heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder

I hope you got inspired.

Yours,

Do what you love

Hi there,

today, Elizabeth Craft Designs is releasing new dies from the wonderful Susan Tierney-Cockburn Garden Notes line:

  • cut out all the parts needed for three flowers with leaves on a branch with the help of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Dogwood 2 dies
  • use Elizabeth Craft Designs Soft Finish Cardstock Dark Chocolate for the branch and watercolor paper for the flowers and leaves
  • color the flowers and leaves with Pan Pastels (permanent green, magenta tint, diarylide yellow tint, neutral grey shade) and ink up the edges with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, Fossilized Amber) for extra dimension
  • assemble the flowers and add Prima Marketing Micro Beads Pollen to the stamen
  • cut out a tag from watercolor paper and cover it with white gesso
  • add watered-down black charcoal powder in some places
  • create some texture using the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge and the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements sets and Archival Ink Black Soot
  • add a touch of blue with Jane Davenport Aquapstels
  • dye a piece of seam binding with that same blue color, rip it apart and thread the strands through the hole of the tag
  • ink up the edges of the tag with black ink
  • add a sticker from the Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker set as sentiment

Have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday Flower

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this quick and easy birthday card:

  • stamp one of the Darkroom Door Fine Flowers and one of the Darkroom Door Fine Butterflies with Versamark and heat-emboss both with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • create a background with Jane Davenport watercolors
  • cut out a stitched scalloped panel around the images and layer the watercolor panel onto another stitched panel before adhering it to a white cardbase
  • cut out the Mama Elephant Happy Scrips once from silver glitter paper and a second time from sturdy white cardstock - glue both layers on top of each other
  • create the second part of the sentiment with a Dymo Label Maker

Have a colorful day.

Yours,
