Christmas Washi Tape

Hi there,

it's time for another Stencil Sunday and the start of a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and I created my own custom-made Christmas Washi Tape:

• cover the backside of  a piece of plain tissue wrap with Stick-it Adhesive - leave the backing on until you really want to use the tape
• cut the tissue wrap into six 2 cm wide strips
• I created three pairs - a grey, a brown/vintage and a black one

Here is a close-up of the grey Washi Tape:

• stamp a background using the script stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set or the newsprint stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set and Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• stamp some leaves from the STAMPlorations Distressed Floral Swirls set with Versafine (Smokey Grey)
• stamp some stars from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• stamp "Noel" from the STAMPlorations Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower set with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• stamp "love" and "hope" from the STAMPlorations Joyful set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• draw in some circles with the help of the ARTplorations Bubbles stencil and a silver PITT Artist Pen

This is the brown/vintage version of the Washi Tape:

• stamp a background using the script stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set or the newsprint stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set and Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
• stamp some stars, arrows and splatters or stars, scribbles and postage stamps from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
• stamp "Peace" from the STAMPlorations Holiday Sketches: Christmas Flower set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• apply Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint (Sterling) through the ARTplorations Dots all Over stencil with a piece of foam

And this is the black pair of the Washi Tape:

• stamp a background using the script stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set or the newsprint stamp from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set and Versafine (Onyx Black)
• stamp some flourishes from the STAMPlorations Distressed Floral Swirls set with Versafine (Crimson Red or Olympia Green)
• stamp some splatters from the STAMPlorations Art Marks set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• stamp "Fa La La" from the STAMPlorations Joyful set Versafine (Crimson Red or Olympia Green) and the "joyful" from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• apply Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint (Gilt) through the ARTplorations Oh my Stars stencil with a piece of foam

This Washi Tape will be great for wrapping your presents or for the use on Christmas Mixed Media Projects. I can't wait to use it.

Stamp Cleaning Wipes Container

Hi there,

welcome to the Happy Little Stampers July Mixed Media Challenge. The topic is "recycle" and this ceramic pot was actually filled with cheese before it was turned into a container for my stamp cleaning wipes:

• cover the ceramic pot with turquoise tissue paper using Multi Medium Matte and a brush
• apply gesso and Distress Paint (Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord) with a baby wipe
• dab some Alcohol Ink (Mushroom, Silver Mixative) here and there using the Alcohol Ink Applicator
• apply Distress Paint (Dusty Concord, Picked Raspberry) through Tim Holtz Layering Stencils (Argyle, Hearts)
• cut the Memory Box Paintbrush Create from black glitter cardstock covered with Stick it and adhere the writing to the container

the topic of this month's Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge is "Water":

• cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper using the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers
• stamp some circles from the Neat & Tangled Dala Horse stamp set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• color the circles and the background with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a wet brush
• stamp the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Birthday Friends with Versafine (Smokey Gray) onto a banner cut with the My Favorite Things Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX
• wrap some May Arts Natural Twine around the banner
• add a strip of dark grey carstock and a strip of silver glitter cardstock to the main panel
• embellish the card with DIY wood veneer pieces: adhere some Stick it to a piece of Balsa Wood and cut out a star (Paper Smooches Stars), a heart (My Favorite Things Coffee Cup) and a flower (Paper Smooches Flowers); cover the pieces with Wink of Stella White Glitter and Glossy Accents
