Butterfly Tag

Hi there,

you all know how much I love Mixed Media tags. Today, I would like to show you this lovely butterfly tag that I created as a Design Team Member for the STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday and Mixed Media Challenge:

• use a Manila Tag #5 and cover it with leftover Distress Paint (Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistacchio) - be sure to come back tomorrow for my tutorial and see the project the paint was leftover from
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord)
• dye Glimmer Ice with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and apply it through the ARTplorations Hearts all over stencil
• add paint splatters with watered-down Distress Ink (Dusty Concord)
• create a cut file from one of the STAMPlorations Trendy Butterflies stamps with the Brother Scan'n'Cut and cut out a larger and a smaller butterfly from watercolor paper
• cover the butterflies with texture paste for more interest and color them with Distress Paint (Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Brushed Pewter)
• stamp the newsprint from STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge with Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink (Watering Can) to add another layer to the butterflies
• ink up the edges of the butterflies with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
• cut out a scribble from The Lilypad Randomly Cut from a black toner copy and run it through the laminator with purple foil on top - add another scribble cut from black cardstock to make the piece more sturdy
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Paint (Dusty Concord) and Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and staple it to the top of the tag together with a piece of Linen Ribbon
• adhere the scribble and the butterflies using hot glue from your glue gun

Hi there,

this week we are having a Photo Inspiration Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More:

• create a background on watercolor paper using a piece of acetate, Distress Ink (Cracked Pistacchio) and water
• stamp a cupcake from Mama Elephant Carnival Cupcakes and the flower from Avery Elle More Stories with Memento (Tuxedo Black) on Perfect Colouring Paper and color the images with Delta Markers
• cut out the sentiment from The Lilypad Hand Drawn Words, cover it with Versamark and heat-emboss with JudiKins Egyptian Gold embossing powder
• add a little gem on top of the "i"
• use kraft cardstock as a base

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you the card that I created for my grandmother's best friend who will turn 95 on May 10th:

• stamp the large and the small sunflower from Lawn Fawn Our Friendship grows with Distress Ink (Spun Sugar) and color the images with Distress Re-Inkers (Spun Sugar, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass)
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• mat the watercolor paper panel onto Distress Cardstock (Pumice Stone)
• cut out a scribbly circle from The Lilypad Randomly Cut Cut Files from vellum
• stamp the first part of the sentiment from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages and the second part of the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages with Versamark on pink smooth cardstock and heat-emboss both with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• cut the left end into a banner shape and add faux stitching to the right side with a Memento Marker (Gray Flannel)
