Dreams are Magical Fairy

Hi there,

everything is Magical over at Cupcake Inspirations this week:

• color the Oddball Art Big Eye Dragonfly Fairy Girl with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• add a little shimmer with Wink of Stella White Glitter
• cut out a circle from a piece of turquoise cardstock using one of the Avery Elle Double Pierced Circles
• stamp the sentiment from Lili of the Valley Fairy Wishes and some dragonflies from the Waffle Flower Lotus stamp set with Versafine (Smokey Gray) directly to the turquoise panel
• adhere a piece of acetate behind the circle and surround it with a double layer of foam tape
• fill the shaker element wíth seed beads and sequins
• close the shaker element with the main panel

• cut out a star from Grungepaper and cover it with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint (Amethyst)
• stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages several times with Versamark and heat-emboss it with silver embossing powder
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord)
• add stitching holes to a kraft cardbase and use silver twine for the stitching
• stamp stars and dots from WPlus9 Little Bits with Delicata (Shimmery Silver) as a background
• round all four corners

today, we are starting an Inspirational Photo Challenge over at A Day for Daisies:

• print the Mucha Style Bud on watercolor paper and mask the flower with Masking Fluid
• create a background using Distress Inks (Dusty Concord, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar)
• color the image with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a damp paintbrush
• cut out a stitched rectangle using the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers
• water down a drop from the Delicata (Golden Glitz) Re-Inker and add splatters over the panel
• apply Delicata (Golden Glitz) through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Flourish) directly onto a black cardbase using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder
• cut out the hello from black cardstock twice and layer them on top of each other; add Delicata (Golden Glitz) through the stencil and heat-emboss the sentiment as well

this is my fourth and sadly last post as the September Guest Designer of Skipping Stones Design and today I want to show you how to create this Mixed Media Card to meet our challenge:

• randomly cover a piece of corrugated cardboard with heavy gesso
• cover the gesso with transparent crackle paste 
• paint over the crackle paste with diluted Distress Paint (Evergreen Bough)
• stamp the musical notes from Skipping Stones Design Heartsong over the painted parts using Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel)
• cut three banners from patterned paper from the Farmhouse 302 6x6 paper pack
• add them to the cardpanel and tie a bow around it
• adhere a piece of Ranger Natural Sticky-Back Canvas to a piece of kraft cardstock and stamp the butterfly from Skipping Stones Design Heartsong with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel)
• color the edges with Distress Paint (Evergreen Bough) and add splatters using the Distress Marker Spritzer and a Distress Marker (Peacock Feathers)
• cover random ares with matte multi medium and add Stampendous Pearlized Mica Fragments
• stamp the sentiment from the same set on a piece of patterned paper using Versafine (Smokey Gray) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• adhere the panel to a kraft cardbase
