today, I would like to show you this one layer christmas card:

• stamp the cute little reindeer from Cuddly Buddly Cuddly Christmas Buddies with Versafine Onyx Black on a watercolor cardbase
• create a mask for the reindeer, a circle mask and a mask for the landscape with eclipse tape
• apply Distress Ink to the sky (Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans) and the soil (Iced Spruce, Frayed Burlap) with the Mini Ink Blending Tool
• add some water droplets for extra texture
• stamp the small solid star from Lawn Fawn Trim the Tree with Versamark and heat-emboss with WOW! silver pearl embossing powder
• add faux stitching around the circle with a black PITT Artist Pen
• color the reindeer with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Zest-it
• add white gel pen to the nose and the hooves and Gelly Roll Stardust Clear to the bow on top of the present
• stamp the sentiment Sternenglanz (Starshine) from Inkystamp Weihnachtszauber with Versamark and heat-emboss with silver embossing powder

Hi there,

I would like to show you another fall-themed-card:

• stamp Newton with the pumpkins on the wagon from Newton's Nook Wagon of Wishes with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• for the background I wanted to emboss a single leaf matching the main image; that's where the problem started - I only had very detailed leaves that just didn't fit; the stamp set includes a leaf cluster and that was my solution; I tried to ink up only the single leaf at the corner with Versamark; I covered the inking with Zing! leaf embossing powder and used a paintbrush to clean off the unwanted parts and there I had my leaf-background
• after heat-embossing put Distress Ink (Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Tea Dye) on your craft mat and pick it up with the just created background piece
• cut the background panel into five stripes
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black directly to the kraft cardbase

take a look at this cute little thank-you-card:

• cut a circle from the Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics 6x6 paper pad and a slightly smaller circle from white cardstock
• create your own background on the white circle by stamping hearts and flowers from Mama Elephant In my Heart and Up and Away with Versacraft (Pale Aqua)
• add faux stitching with a Distress Marker (Tumbled Glass)
• stamp the sweet little girl from Mama Elephant In my Heart with Versafine Onyx Black and paper piece the dress, the shoes and the tiny heart with Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics patterned paper and color the rest with Derwent Coloursoft and Zest-it
• cut the "thanks" and the "heartfelt" from the same patterned paper and adhere the "thanks" to a strip of vellum
• add three DIY enamel dots as final embellishments

• cut "fabulous" from Studio L2E Beautiful Words cut file three times from watercolor paper and color with the Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors
• layer the sentiment to create kind of an ombre look
• add stickers from the Simple Stories DIY line
• adhere the completed panel to a kraft cardbase

• stamp Wild Rose Studio Bees with Cupcake with the brown from the Cat's Eye Queues Rich Rustics on watercolor paper
• color the image with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush
• use Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) diluted with water for the background
• cut a frame and three banners from Distress Cardstock (Pine Needles, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Broken China)
• stamp Karten-Kunst sentiment Zum Geburtstag (For your Birthday) with Versamark on a strip of smooth black cardstock and heat-emboss with white embossing powder
• add three black DIY enamel dots, Glossy Accents to the flame, Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy to the wings and dots from a white pearl maker to the sprinkles on the cupcake
• adhere to dark kraft carstock with foam dots

today, a have a cute little peek-a-boo card that I would like to show you:

• create a peek-a-boo panel from sturdy white cardstock for the From the Heart Stamps Flappy Birthday Birdbrain and cover the panel with patterned paper from the Doodlebug Design Inc. Sugar Shoppe 6x6 paper pad
• color the image with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Zest-it
• add a stripe of washi-tape to the white cardbase and adhere the panel with foam tape
• stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine with Versafine Onyx Black
• complete the balloon string and add faux stitching with a black PITT Artist Pen
• add Glossy Accents to the balloon, the dots and the heart and Pretty Pink Posh 4mm sequins (Pink Peonies, Sparkling Clear, Aquamarine)

Hello,

today, I would like to show you another card that I created for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

• stamp the snowflakes from Lawn Fawn Winter Penguin with Versamark on watercolor paper and heat-emboss with clear embossing powder
• create an emboss-resist using Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves) and your Mini Ink Blending Tool
• flick some Smooch Spritz Vanilla Shimmer on the background piece
• stamp the heart from the same set in the middle of the panel with Versamark and heat-emboss with red metallic embossing powder
• stamp the cute little penguin with Colorbox Cat's Eye black on another piece of watercolor paper and cut it out
• create a mirror-stamped image by stamping the penguin on the backside of a large acrylic stamp or on the back of an unmounted rubber stamp and stamp that on a piece of watercolor paper; the lines won't be too crisp but you can always go over them with your black Micron Pen
• color the images using Derwent Artists Pencils and Zest-it
• adhere the penguins to the background panel with foam dots
• mat the panel on Distress Cardstock (Black Soot)
• stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Snow Day with Versamark directly to the white cardbase and heat-emboss with the same red metallic embossing powder
• round the bottom left and right corner with your corner rounder as a finishing touch

• stamp a pattern from Paper Smooches Potpourri with ColorBox Apricot and heat-emboss with clear embossing powder
• stamp a flower from Paper Smooches Reflections with Versacraft (Wisteria) and heat-emboss with clear embossing powder
• use a Sponge Dauber to apply Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Tide Pool)
• cut away a strip and adhere the rest around the sentiment from Paper Smooches Scripty Sayings stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on a white cardbase

since I won't have the time to post a card tomorrow, I have got a second one for you today. If you are also interested in the first, click here.

• use the embossing folder from the Snowflake Pattern and Plaid Set on light kraft cardstock and cover the raised areas and the edges with Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap)
• cut out one scalloped circle from gold foiled cardstock and another one from cork
• cut out two leaves from Kraft Glassine
• crumple the leaves together and heat-set Perfect Pearls (Heirloom Gold, Turquoise) on them
• use dark kraft cardstock as a cardbase and stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Into the Woods with Versamark on a little fishtail banner cut from a leftover piece and heat-emboss with WOW! Gold Pearl embossing powder
• add faux stitching to that little sentiment strip with a golden PITT Artist Pen

• hand draw square frame with a black PITT Artist Pen and mask the edges
• stamp the flower from Karten-Kunst Gartenblumen with Versafine Smokey Gray using the masking technique
• color the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Sweet Little Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black
• to create more interest add some splatters of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Tinsel and cover the flowers with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter

Watercolor Birthday

Hello,

today, I would like to show you another watercolor card. I really love this technique. I always seem to end up with a similar color combination. Do you have a favorite color combo that you often turn to?

• stamp the large and the medium butterfly from WPlus9 Flora & Fauna 2 with Distress Ink (Antique Linen) on watercolor paper
• color the images and the background with Winsor & Newton Watercolors
• add some dark grey paint splatters for more texture
• add pearlized water to the wings of the butterflies and add some glittery splatters as well
• adhere the watercolor panel to a piece of Maja Design Vintage Summer Basics patterned paper
• ink all the edges with Memento Luxe (Sweet Plum)
• stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Sweet Little Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black directly to American Crafts smoke cardstock
• the addition of some sequins finishes the card

Hi there,

the story of today's card is a little odd. Normally, I have an overall concept before I start creating a card but this time it was different. I wanted to try out a packing tape transfer. I used some oriental paper for this technique, which just had a little bit too much gold for my taste. The transfer worked out fine. I wanted to take it a little step further and decided to use this piece in my cutting machine and the result was a beautiful sentiment. I then decided to create a card using this sentiment and here is the result:

• cut the StudioL2E beautiful sentiment from the packing tape transfer piece and adhere it to a white cardbase using Multi Medium Matte
• stamp flower from Marianne Design Eline's Oriental Lady EC0127 randomly with Versafine Onyx Black
• stamp Heindesign Tigerkatze right above the "u" using a stamp positioner
• color the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• add a little white pearl above the "i", Glossy Accents to the center of the flowers and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the petals of the flowers

New Baby

Hi there,

clean and simple one layer cards are always the most difficult for me because I just like my layers and my little embellishments.

Here is today's card:

• use white cardstock as a base and cut it to a square 
• stamp image from Heindesign Vier Baby-Motive with Versafine Onyx Black and color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-It
• stamp sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Sweet Little Sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black right below the image
• add Glossy Accents to the pacifier, the pompon and the buttons to add a little shine

And since this step-by-step tutorial is really short, I would like to share a little trick with you:
I fill my Zest-it into an Alcohol Ink Blending Pen and use the fine tip to blend my Prismacolor Pencils. Between different colors I just draw some lines on a scrap piece of paper and the tip cleans itself.

• mat the panel on silver glitter paper and adhere the whole panel to blue cardstock with foam dots
• add three white DIY enamel dots and round all four corners with a corner rounder

Hello,

this is the card that I would like to show you today:

• stamp the cute little chicken family from Unity Stamp Company Garden Variety with Versafine Toffee on watercolor paper
• color the image with Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush
• mask the image with a strip of scrap paper and add dyed (Distress Re-Inker Peacock Feathers) embossing paste through the TCW Chickenwire Reversed Mini stencil
• stamp the sentiment ("Happy Birthday" from Avery Elle Written in the Stars and "from all of us" from The Alley Way Stamps Monster Mash) with Versafine Onyx Black directly to the panel
• round the corners with a 1'' corner rounder
• remove a strip from the panel and replace the removed part with burlap
• adhere the pieces to a kraft cardbase (burlap with double-sided adhesive and watercolor panel with foam tape)
• add three sequins (Bumblebee) and some paint splatters (diluted Distress Re-Inker Peacock Feathers) for even more texture

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this pastel ice cream card:

• use turquoise smooth cardstock as a base and stamp Lawn Fawn Argyle Backdrops with Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Tide Pool) on the right side
• cover the left side with blue paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection 
• stamp the ice cream bowl from Lawn Fawn Here's the Scoop two times with Versafine Onyx Black on sturdy white cardstock and layer the two pieces on top of each other to create a faux chipboard piece
• color the image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• cut out the circle frame two times; once from light pink paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection and once from dark pink paper from the Avery Elle Brights Collection - puzzle the frames together using alternating colors; for this card I used the light one and I will keep the dark version for another project
• stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Birthday Tags with Versafine Onyx Black in the bottom left corner
• put everything together and add three pink DIY enamel dots, Glossy Accents to the cherries and pink twine with a little bow (I secured the bow with a drop of Multi Medium Matte)
