1 Die 8 Looks: Part 2 - Flower against Watercolor Background

Hi there,

this is the next part of my series over at the Karten-Kunst Blog. Part 2 is all about the flower against a watercolor background:

• create a background on a stitched panel of watercolor paper using Distress Markers (Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry), the Distress Marker Spritzer and water from your Mini Mister
• cut out all four parts of the Memory Box Sketch Daisy die from watercolor paper and color them with Distress Markers (Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry) and a waterbrush
• stamp the sentiment from Mias Stempelküche Alles zum Geburtstag with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock
• add black cardstock and silver glitter cardstock to the left side of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

• stamp the lovely Wild Rose Studio Flowers for you with Versafine Vintage Sepia and color the image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• add details with a white gel pen and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
• stamp the sentiment from Mia's Stempelküche Alles zum Geburtstag with Memento Luxe (Rose Bud)
• cover a scrap piece of sturdy white cardstock with the same pink ink and cut out some small hearts using the Mama Elephant Confetti die, cover them with Versamark and heat-emboss them with clear embossing powder
• cut out a frame from dark kraft cardstock and stamp the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain with Versamark and heat-emboss with white embossing powder
• create a background by applying Versafine Vintage Sepia through the Memory Box Garden Floral Confetti stencil onto a light kraft cardbase

• cut out a tag around the images using the Lil' Inker Designs Anytime Tags and cut another tag from patterned paper from the Doodlebug Design Sugar Shoppe 6x6 paper pad; use one of the Avery Elle Dotted Border dies to create a decorative edge
• color the images with Delta Markers and add sprinkles with pearl makers
• add the reinforcer and thread twine through the hole of the tag
• create a background on a white cardbase with the help of the My Favorite Things Swiss Dots Background stamp and Avery Elle Pigment Ink (Pixie) 
• add the sentiment from Mia's Stempelküche Alles zum Geburtstag with Avery Elle Pigment Ink (Raspberry)

• stamp the cute little chick from Create a Smile Eggstraordinary Egghunt with Versafine (Onyx Black) on patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka 6x6 petite paper pack and add some dimension using Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• stamp the tiny dots from the same stamp set with Colorbox Pigment Ink (Pink) on its belly and add a flower sequin from the Pretty Pink Posh Springtime Mix
• cut out an egg shape from a piece of white cardstock, stamp the sentiment from Mias Stempelküche 365 (Frohe Ostern means Happy Easter) with Versafine (Onyx Black) in the bottom right corner and add faux stitching with a Distress Marker (Worn Lipstick)
• cover the egg shape with acetate and surround it with foam tape; fill the shaker with Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (4mm Pink Peonies and 4mm Lemon Meringue) and transparent seed beads; cover the shaker with another piece of acetate
• stamp the medium dots from Technique Tuesday Lots of Dots with Versafine (Onyx Black) on the right edge of a white cardbase and little flowers from Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms with Versacraft (Lemon Yellow) and Colorbox Pigment Ink (Pink) as a background for the egg shaker

Frohe Ostern - Happy Easter

this is a cute little Easter Card that I created for the Karten Kunst Blog:

• cut out the word "Frohe" (Happy) from white cardstock
• stamp the tiny dots from Whiff of Joy Kreise und Punkte with Brilliance (Pearlescent Sky Blue) on a strip of yellow paper and adhere it to the back of the panel 
• stamp the sentiment from Mias Stempelküche 365 on the panel with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• stamp the little chick from Penny Black Chick to Chick with Versafine (Onyx Black) and color the image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• add Glossy Accents to the beak of the chick and to the ladybug
• adhere the panel to a white cardbase using foam dots

• stamp the cute little Yeti from Lawn Fawn Yeti, Set, Go with Versafine Onyx Black and color the image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it - add some details with a white gel pen

• stamp Karten-Kunst Hibiscus on watercolor paper with Versamark and heat emboss with clear embossing powder
• color the panel with Twinkling H20s
• cut the panel into stripes, ink the edges with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) and the Mini Ink Blending Tool and adhere them to the card base with foam dots
• stamp sentiment from Mias Stempelküche 365 Tage on vellum with Staz-On Jet Black and wrap around the card (if you ink up your stamp with Versamark before putting on the Staz-On, the stamp will be easier to clean - "Endlich Sommer" is German and means "Finally Summer")
• round the top left corner with your corner rounder

Hi,

I have another card that I would like to show you. As you certainly have noticed, watercolors are a huge trend in cardmaking at the moment. And not only for the creation of backgrounds but also for coloring. I took out my Art Impressions stamps from the special watercolor line today and created this pretty card.

These stamps are made to create the whole scene out of little elements. If you don't know them, you should really check them out. You can find all the details in my supply list below. I use them in combination with the Distress products since they are water-based and with a damp brush you can achieve great watercolor effects.
