Magical Winter

Hi there,

I created this sweet watercolor bunny card for the Stamping-Fairies Facebook Group:

  • stamp a little scene using Art Impressions Watercolor Stamps, Winsor & Newton Watercolor Markers and a damp watercolor brush
  • cut out a stitched tag around the scene and another stitched tag from patterned paper from the Maja Design Joyous Winter Days 6x6 paper pad
  • slightly offset the patterned paper tag and adhere both to a stitched panel cut from patterned paper from that same paper pad
  • thread a piece of natural twine through the holes of the tags
  • decorate a kraft cardbase with little leaves from an Art Impressions Watercolor stamp set stamped with Archival Ink Coffee
  • stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairy Friends set with Versafine Smokey Gray

Thanks for stopping by.

Sending you Hugs Bunny

Hi there,

I would like to show you another of my Art Impressions watercolor projects as inspiration for this month's Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge:

  • stamp the little scene with the help of some Art Impressions Watercolor stamps, Distress Markers and ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens - use a damp brush to add that typical look
  • cut out a torn rectangle around the scene
  • create a background on a tag cut from watercolor paper using Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
  • stamp the sentiment from the My Favorite Things Somebunny set with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
  • ink up the edges of the tag and the watercolor panel with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
  • thread some purple and natural twine through the hole of the tag

Have a wonderful day.

To a Cool Friend

Hi there,

we are starting a new Christmas Challenge over on the Happy Little Stampers Blog and this time the optional twist is "Stencil":

  • stamp both sides of the penguin from the Art Impressions Snowman and Penguin Set with Memento (Tuxedo Black)
  • color the images with Faber-Castell Polychromos Pencils and Zest-it
  • add white Liquid Applique to the rim and the pompon of the hat
  • cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper and cut one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Peek-a-Boo Windows into that panel, a white cardbase and another panel cut from patterned paper from the BoBunny Altitude 6x6 paper pad
  • apply some Distress Oxide Ink (Broken China) through the Memory Box Tiny Snowflake stencil and mist the watercolor panel with Pearlized Water
  • stamp some more snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn Toboggan Together set with Distress Oxide Ink (Broken China) to the outside and inside of the card
  • stamp the two parts of the sentiment from the same stamp set with that same ink to the outside and inside as well
  • for more interest heat-emboss some of the snowflakes inside the card with WOW! Silver Pearl embossing powder

I can't wait to see your creations in the gallery.

Für Dich - For You

Hi,

I have another card that I would like to show you. As you certainly have noticed, watercolors are a huge trend in cardmaking at the moment. And not only for the creation of backgrounds but also for coloring. I took out my Art Impressions stamps from the special watercolor line today and created this pretty card.

These stamps are made to create the whole scene out of little elements. If you don't know them, you should really check them out. You can find all the details in my supply list below. I use them in combination with the Distress products since they are water-based and with a damp brush you can achieve great watercolor effects.

Here is a closeup:

Here is my list of supplies:
Art Impressions - Small Pot
Art Impressions - Teeny Tiny Grass
Art Impressions - Leaves
Art Impressions - Small Vine
Art Impressions - Daisy Bunch
Art Impressions - Salvia
Mias Stempelküche - Alles zum Geburtstag
Maja Design - Vintage Summer Basics 6x6 Paper Pad
Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass, Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean, Bundled Sage)
Distress Marker (Gathered Twigs, Worn Lipstick)
kraft cardstock

I am going to combine the following three challenges:

retrosketches #114

Keep it Simple! #39: Watercolor

 Virginia's View Challenge #3 - Stitching

I hope you like the card.

Yours,
Tanja
