Beautiful Spring

Hi there,

we are starting a new TAGplorations Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and this month it is All about Spring and the Optional Twist is Birds:

• cut out a CUTplorations Manila Tag from watercolor paper
• add some color with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst (Tibetian Poppy Teal)
• adhere some tissue tape at two random spots
• color the edges with the graphite Stabilo All Pencil and activate it with water
• add some additional color to the edges with a Distress Crayon (Peacock Feathers)
• stamp one large bird from the STAMPlorations Trendy Birds 2 set with Versafine Clair (Nocturne)
• stamp the music notes from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set with Archival Ink (Watering Can)
• use Alphabet Stickers to form the sentiment and add a Rub-On on top
• go over the raised areas of the letters with Prima Marketing Metallique Wax (Brushed Iron)
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke) and thread it through the hole of the tag

Timeless Nature Wood Panel

Hi there,

it is time for another Stencil Sunday over on the STAMPlorations Blog:

• cover a wood panel with white gesso
• apply Dreamweaver Crackle embossing paste through the ARTplorations Happy Flowers Large stencil and let it dry thoroughly
• add Distress Paints (Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry, Evergreen Bough, Mermaid Lagoon, Spun Sugar) at the top of the panel and water it down until it drips - let it dry between colors and at the end
• mix some Distress Paint (Hickory Smoke) with Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid, paint it over the whole panel, let it sit for a minute and wipe some of it away with a baby wipe - repeat this process until you are happy with the result
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
• add some texture by stamping the script from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set with Archival Ink Watering Can
• add a border with one stamp from the STAMPlorations Artsy Border Maker set and the dot pattern from the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Grunge set and the same grey ink 
• apply some Remnant Rubs (Botanical) at random spots as final embellishment
• dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Stains (Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac, Evergreen Bough) and thread it through the holes of the panel

Dragon Flight

Hi there,

I have a fun Mixed Media ATC on the A Day for Daisies Blog for you:

• color the A Day for Daisies Dragon Flight image with Distress Markers and a damp watercolor brush
• add Pico Embellisher (Shimmer) to its little purple dots
• create some Gelli Print backgrounds on deli paper using a brayer, Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paints (Lapis, Night, Turquoise, Magenta) and the ARTplorations Leaf Bliss Large stencil and the ARTplorations Big Bloom Factory Large stencil
• cover an ATC cut from sturdy watercolor paper with part of a print using Dina Wakley Gel Medium
• apply some Prima Marketing Modleing Paste throught the TCW Love Post stencil
• mix some Distress Paint (Hickory Smoke) with Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid, paint it over the dried texture paste, let it sit for a minute and wipe some of it away with a baby wipe - repeat this process until you are happy with the result
• ink up the edges of the ATC with Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke)
• add some black splatters with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors
• choose some Ideaology Remnant Rubs (Botanical) as embellishments
• apply Versamark around the edges of the card and heat-emboss them with Archival Watering Can embossing powder

Little Flower Fairy

Hi there,

we are starting a new Theme Challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations:

• color the All Dressed Up Stamps Little Flower Fairy with Delta and Touch Twin Markers 
• add details with a white gel pen 
• use the Paper Smooches Notebook Basic die to cut around the image
• add a rub-on as the sentiment
• color a piece of vellum with the same markers used on the image and spritz it with alcohol for a watercolor effect
• apply Distress Ink (Hickory Smoke) through the Memory Box Pinpoint Floral stencil in order to create a background pattern
• add a purple edge to a white cardbase with a marker to match the rest of the project

Hi there,

today, I would like to share this mixed media tag with you that I created as part of my application for the Stamplorations Mixed Media Team:

• glue scraps of Tim Holtz Postale tissue wrap to a Manila Tag #8
• cover the tag with gesso
• add Distress Paint (Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon) to your craft sheet and mist it with a little water; drag the tag through the mixture until you are satisified with the result
• add Distress Spray Stain (Pumice Stone) and let it drip down the tag
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• stamp some images from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Correspondence with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) and Archival Ink (Watering Can)
• apply Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) through the TCW well-rounded Mini stencil
• dye Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste with Distress Re-Inker (Frayed Burlap) and apply it through another part of the same stencil
• cut out a plane from Grunge Paper, color it with Distress Paint (Gathered Twigs), add some sketchy lines with a dark sepia PITT Artist Pen and cover the whole plane with Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy
• use a rub on from the Remnant Rubs Words set for the first part of the sentiment and a Chit Chat sticker for the second part
• cut out "journey" from Grunge Paper, cover it with Versamark and heat-emboss it with Ranger Watering Can embossing powder
• add a little blue star altered with Alcohol Ink (Mushroom) to replace the dot over the "j"
• dye a piece of seam binding with the leftovers on your craft sheet and add it as a bow to the top of the tag

Butterflies

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you a colorful tag inspired by the 12 Tags of 2014 - September.

• apply Alcohol Blending Solution through the TCW Harlequin Mini stencil to Gloss Paper
• swipe the paper through Alcohol Ink (Juniper)
• stamp a flower from Karten-Kunst Gartenblumen with Brilliance (Graphite Black) using masking tape - I also tried Archival (Jet Black) and Staz On (Jet Black) but I had some smudge issues - the Brilliance just worked best for me
• color another piece of Gloss Paper with Alcohol Inks (Pink Sherbet, Sunshine Yellow, Clover, Sailboat Blue, Purple Twilight, Silver Mixative) and stamp Hero Arts Thank you Definition over it with Brilliance (Graphite Black)
• cut out several butterflies from this colored piece of paper and adhere them to the panel with Glossy Accents
• embellish the panel with Remnant Rubs (Botanical, Words, Numbers) and adhere it to a Black Craft Tag leaving a small black border
• add Linen Ribbon and fray both endings

Here is a close-up - isn't the metallic shine of the butterflies just fabulous?
