O Christmas Tree ...

Hi there,

we are starting a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog and this is my very christmasy creation:

  • color a wooden tree with teal acrylic paint
  • apply Prima Marketing Platinum Crackle Paste through the ARTplorations Oh my Stars! stencil and Texture Paste through the ARTplorations Holly Background stencil
  • let this dry thoroughly - I actually left it over night
  • add shading with Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • color the holly leaves and berries with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • add snowflake splatters with watered-down white acrylic paint
  • now you can stick little fairy lights through the holes and have a wonderful Christmas decoration

I can't wait to see your creations in the gallery.

Hugs,

Merry Christmas Snowman Tag

Hi there,

I created this cute snowman tag for the Stamping-Fairies Facebook Group:

  • cut out a tag from watercolor paper using one of tag dies from the Tim Holtz Tag Collection
  • stamp the snowman with the help of the Lawn Fawn Making frosty Friends set and Versafine Clair Pinecone - use the Masking Technique
  • color the image with Derwent Inktense pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • stamp some snow from the Lawn Fawn Snow Cool set with Distress Embossing Ink and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • add color to the background with watered-down Distress Oxide Re-Inker Tumbled Glass
  • use the rest of the ink to dye a piece of torn seam binding and thread it through the hole of the tag
  • stamp the sentiment from the Avery Elle Polar Peek a Boo Pals with Distress Embossing Ink onto a strip of Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • add some highlights and faux stitching with a white gel pen

Have a wonderful day.

Smells like Christmas

Hi there,

I created this adorable Christmas card for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • create a background on a stitched panel of watercolor paper using Distress Oxide Inks or Distress Oxide Re-Inkers (Broken China, Peacock Feathers) and water from your Mini Mister
  • stamp the Karten-Kunst Spiral-Text Schnee with Versamark and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
  • stamp the sweet mouse from the Gerda Steiner Designs Smell like Christmas set with Versafine Smokey Gray, do some paper-piecing with patterned paper from the Maja Designs Home for Christmas 6x6 paper pad and color the rest of the image with Faber-Castell Albrecht-Dürer Pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • add white Liquid Applique to the cap and the shoes for extra dimension

Have a christmasy day.
