Good Morning,
with my sons birthday coming up, the task was clear: create a fun birthday card for a 7th Birthday.
While working on this card I had the
"Lawnscaping Challenge No. 80 - Mini" in mind.
I chose one of my favorite papers from the Hello Sunshine collection as a frame. As a second step, I created a background on watercolor paper using my sponge daubers and matching Distress Inks. For my focal point I used the Mini Set "Year Four". I built a birdie-pyramid with seven birds on the back of that cute little hippo. I paper-pieced he birds, the hippo and the balloons with the help of the Let's Polka paper pack. I added a seven and for that extra dimenson some real twine holding the balloons.
For the sentiment I used heat embossing with several different powders to also match the colors of the frame. I first stamped the sentiment with Versamark and then sprinkled the first color with a spoon only on certain spots and heat-embossed this first color. Afterwards, I filled the waste back into the jar and so on. By doing so, you don't waste any embossing powder.
