Trick or Treat Ghosts

Hi there,

I created this double slider card using the new Gerda Steiner Designs Boo for you stamp set:

  • create a double slider mechanism using the My Favorite Things Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX, watercolor paper, one of the Kesi'Art Encoches and a piece of plastic
  • add color with Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violet and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • mist the panels with Pearlized Water for extra texture and shimmer
  • color the adorable little ghosts from the Gerda Steiner Designs A Boo for you set with Derwent Graphitint pencils and a damp watercolor brush
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • decorate the bottom panel with candy from the Gerda Steiner Designs Where is the Candy? set using Versamark and WOW! Black Twinkle embossing glitter
  • stamp the sentiment from the same set with Delicata Black Shimmer onto the top panel
  • add some stars from the Gerda Steiner Designs Alien Invasion set with that same black ink
  • Nuvo Crystal Drops in Ebony Black are the final embellishment on the front and top panel
  • punch a star-shaped hole into the bottom panel and thread a piece of natural twine through it
  • cover a cardbase with patterned paper from the Graphic 45 An eerie Tale 6x6 paper pad before adhering the slider panel

I hope you got inspired.

You're Invited

Hi there,

I have another card for you.

You can find a lot of techniques on this clean and layered card: dry embossing, heat embossing, layering, paper piecing and of course stamping.
For the background circles, I layered a piece of dry-embossed acetate on top of the heat-embossed larger circle. The little embossed dots on the top circle are colored in with Liquid Pearls and the sticky heat-embossed larger dots are covered with rub-on foil.
The sentiment is heat-embossed on a piece of vellum.

I am going to participate in the following challenges:

and

A Blog Named Hero Challenge #44: You're the (em)Boss

Here is my list of supplies:
Paper Smooches - Hot Concoctions

Happy Birthday

Good Morning,

today, I would like to show you the card that I created for the Lawnscaping Challenge No. 81: Create your own Background.

I stamped the mushrooms from the Critters in the Forest set on sand cardstock and colored them in with Derwent Graphitint and Distress Paint to create my background for this shaker-card. The mushrooms looked so cute. For this reason, I didn't want to cover them with the shaker - I wanted them to have the chance to peek through. To achieve this, my shaker has acetate on the back, too. As shaking elements I didn't use sequins but stamped leaves from the same set. In the sentiment I replaced the "A" in "Happy" with the cute little party hat - just to make it extra special. Making this card took quite a while ... but it was worth it - don't you think?

Here is my list of supplies:
Lawn Fawn - Critters in the Forest
Lawn Fawn - Year Two
Distress Paint (Picket Fence)
sand cardstock
Distress Ink (Vintage Photo)
acetate
twine

And since there is an owl among the congratulators, I am also going to link up this card to the Creative Friday Challenge #102: Eulen/Owls.

See you again soon.

Yours,
Tanja

Go to your Happy Place

Hi,

I'm back. Yesterday, I spent the whole day on the playground with my two children.

Here is the card that I created being inspired by the retrosketches #111 Challenge.

Since I used a Papersmooches stamp set, I am also going to link this card up the the

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge - Anything goes

and to the Moving along with the Times Challenge - Transportation.

Here is my list of supplies:
Paper Smooches  - Get outta Town
Simple Stories - Urban Traveler
Distress Ink (Iced Spruce, Frayed Burlap, Antique Linen, Stormy Sky, Bundled Sage)
vanilla cardstock
star brad

When I use Distress Ink with clear stamps, I always use Versamark underneath - that helps prevent pooling and leads to better stamping results.

Until next time.

Yours,
Tanja

I ♥ you

Hi,

I was really looking forward to the new Lawnscaping Challenge but at that time I didn't know how hard it would be ... it was so hard to decide which new technique to try. I made a list first:

  • lift distress or dylusions ink with wet stencil
  • distress ink splatter stamping
  • embossing powder over embossing paste
  • megaflakes on a colored background

I decided to go with the embossing powder over embossing paste but that does not mean that I won't try the others on my list some time soon.

I took a picture at an angle as well, in order to make the texture visible.

First, I used embossing paste on watercolor paper and sprinkled the embossing enamel on top. Since I am quite impatient, I used my heat tool right away, already knowing that this will lead the embossing paste to create even more texture. The tag was just a little too white for me at that time. For this reason, I put some distress ink on. I looked for some matching patterned paper to create my shadow tag. I decided on a tone on tone kraft background and a white embossed sentiment. For the sentiment I used another technique that I wanted to try: masking to create an individual sentiment. I used the first part from the Into the Woods set and the "you" from the Let's roll set.

I hope you like the card as much as I do.

I am going to link it up to the following challenges:

Here is my list of supplies:
Distress Ink (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick)
Distress Marker (Gathered Twigs)

See you again soon.

Tanja

The card tells the story of a little dragon who is so happy to have a pinwheel ... it doesn't come to his mind that fire is probably not a too good idea ...and oops ... the pinwheel is gone.

I hope you like the outcome.

Tanja
