Hi there,

today, I would like to share another card using a cute image from Gerda Steiner Designs:

• color the adorable Gerda Steiner Designs Cute Elephant with Balloon Bird with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils, Zest-it and a white gel pen
• create a background using Jaxell Soft Pastels, a white pompon, masks from the Hero Arts Cloudy Stencil and a DIY hill shape
• stamp the sentiment from WPlus9 Unforgettable with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• cut out the balloon using a kraft knife to create a shaker element; cover the balloon with acetate and add foam tape around the opening; fill glitter into the shaker element and close it with patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka Mon Amie 6x6 petite paper pack
• to make the elephant's tail appear a little fluffy I dyed Liquid Applique with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• cover a white cardbase with patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka 6x6 petite paper pack

This is my second card to apply as a March Guest Designer for Gerda Steiner Designs - keep your fingers crossed for me.

Little Star

Hi there,

here is a one-layer card for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• stamp the cute little reindeer and the sentiment from Unity Stamp Company Oh Little Star with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) on a kraft cardbase
• color the image with Distress Markers (Tattered Rose, Gathered Twigs, Vintage Photo, Black Soot, Festive Berries, Fired Brick) and a waterbrush
• add Stickles (Christmas Red) and white gel pen to the nose, Stickles to the tiny heart and Delicata (Golden Glitz) to the little star; to use the ink from the ink pad like paint, just press the inkpad on an acrylic block and use a waterbrush to pick up the color and transfer it to the image
• stamp the beautiful snowflakes from Personal Impressions Snowflakes with Delicata (Silvery Shimmer) as a background
• after having a closer blook at the finished project, I realised that the sentiment was not completely straight - things like this drive the perfectionist in me a bit crazy but I liked the card too much to start over - what would you do?

• round the top right corner with a 1'' corner rounder

• color the mason jar with Fresco Acrylic Paints (Turquoise, Dusty Teal, Chalk) and the Flowers with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Sweet Little Sentiments with Versafine (Onyx Black) and heat-emboss with Sternenstaub Clear embossing powder
• tie a bow around the card using Doodlebug Twine Bright Assortment

this is my card for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, grey, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

This week we are using Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral & Daffodil Delight  ... have fun!

• create a sky background on watercolor paper using Distress Ink (Salty Ocean); add the clouds by applying water on a Mini Ink Blending Tool through the Hero Arts Cloudy Stencil and dabbing it away with a paper towel
• stamp the line from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• stamp the fun bird from The Alley Way Stamps Priceless Joy with Versafine (Onyx Black) on watercolor paper four times and color the images with Distress Markers (Black Soot, Pumice Stone, Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Worn Lipstick)
• add Stampendous Crystal Glitter Multi Ultra Fine, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter, Glossy Accents and white gel pen to the pink bird
• stamp the sentiment using Stampendous Tiny Alphabet with Versafine (Onyx Black) on a piece of smooth yellow cardstock
• add the sentiment banner with the help of the Tiny Attacher
• mat the background panel on a piece of black cardstock

1 Stamp - 10 Tags ... Part 9 - Chalkboard

Hi there,

this is the ninth tag of my little series "1 Stamp - 10 Tags" for the Karten-Kunst Blog with another Tim-Holtz-technique:

• cut a tag from watercolor paper
• cover the tag with black chalkboard paint
• stamp the flower and the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Gartenblumen with Versamark and heat-emboss with Ranger Frosted Crystal embossing powder - this powder melts matte with a bit of tooth to grab the chalk
• cover the tag with white chalk and wipe away the excess with a paper towel - repeat these steps until you are satisfied with the outcome
• add faux stitching with a white gel pen
• thread twine through the hole of the tag

Hi there,

today, I would like to share this cute one layer watercolor card with you:

• stamp the cat from Newton's Nook Newton's Day Dream and additional flowers (for this purpose I masked off the flowers of the main image) from Newton's Nook Wagon of Wishes with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• add the sentiment with the same ink using Newton's Nook Holiday Wishes and Mama Elephant Happy Everything
• watercolor the image with Twinkling H2Os (sea glass, emerald, bashful blue, medierranean, mango mamba, pink cloud, rose petal, playful peony, periwinkle, hunter grey)
• add a frame with a ruler and a black Pitt Artist Pen

today, I have a one layer Mixed Media Card that I would like to show you:

• create a background on a watercolor cardbase using Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China)
• apply Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers) through the TCW Love Post Mini Stencil with a Sponge Dauber
• add ink splatters with the same ink colors and with pearlized water
• apply four lines of IndigoBlu FlitterGlu with the help of masking and add IndigoBlu Megaflakes (Winter Dawn) to the sticky surface
• stamp the sentiment from Mama Elephant Many Thanks with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• round all four corners with a 1'' corner rounder and ink of the edges with Distress Ink (Broken China)
• add Glossy Accents to the hearts for extra shine and dimension

here is the card for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• cut a circle from a white cardpanel and cover it from the back with a piece of acetate
• add faux stitching around the circle with a Distress Marker (Broken China)
• cover the background with foam tape
• fill the shaker element with Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (4mm Sparkling Clear and 6mm Sparkling Clear) and tiny pearls
• add a piece of patterned paper from the docrafts Me to You Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pad to close the shaker
• adhere the shaker panel to a white cardbase
• stamp the cute little penguin from Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins with Versafine (Onyx Black) on a piece of white cardstock and color the image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• stamp the sentiment from Create a Smile Schöne Bescherung with Versafine (Onyx Black) into a speech bubble and add faux stitching with a Distress Marker (Broken China)

• paper-piece the hot air balloon from Lawn Fawn Blue Skies with the help of the Lawn Fawn Let's Polka 6x6 petite paper pack
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set on a strip of vellum with Versamark and heat-emboss with Wendy Vecchi Watering Can embossing powder
• use Neenah Desert Storm Kraft Cardstock as a cardbase and stamp images from Lawn Fawn Quinn's 123s and Lawn Fawn Birthday Tags using Avery Elle Kraft Pigment Ink and Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Butter Bar, Pale Tomato, Tide Pool) - color the numbers using Derwent Inktense Pencils and the Dove Blender Pen
• add three Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (6mm Sparkling Clear) as final embellishments

today, I would like to show you this mixed media canvas:

• use Dina Wakley Gel Medium to cover a canvas with Papermania Tissue Paper and apply a thin coat of gesso on top
• create a background using Distress Paints (Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry)
• cut out Miss Kate Cuttables Valentine Subway Art from Grungepaper and color the pieces with Distress Paint (Picked Raspberry) and Inka Gold (Magenta, Turquoise, Graphite)
• cover the hearts with Versamark and heat-emboss with Wendy Vecchi Watering Can embossing powder - stamp Flamingo-Art J-652 with Distress Paint (Picket Fence) on top to create the enamelware look
• apply Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste through Heidi Swapp Confetti, TCW Stitch Doodle Dot Mini and Dylusions Dotted Flowers
• stamp over the dots with Hero Arts Thank you Definition and Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink (Watering Can)
• apply Distress Ink (Pumice Stone, Weathered Wood) around the edges and on top of the embossing paste and Distress Ink (Stormy Sky) through the Layering Stencil (Clockwork)
• apply Versamarker at random spots around the edge, heat-emboss with Ranger Sticky embossing powder and add foil (Vintage)
• use the Distress Marker Spritzer with Distress Markers (Pumice Stone, Dusty Concord, Black Soot) as a finishing touch

this is my card for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, grey, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

This week we are using Pool Party, So Saffron & Real Red ... have fun!

• cut a scalloped rectangle from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and stamp the butterfly from Lawn Fawn Flutter by with Memento (Desert Sand) five times
• color the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Zest-it
• cover the wings of the butterflies with Winsor & Newton Iridescent Medium
• redraw the feelers with a dark sepia PITT Artist Pen
• cut out the word dream four times: once from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and three times from sturdy white cardstock
• color the white pieces  with Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers, Barn Door, Mustard Seed)
• layer the four pieces on top of each other with a slight offset
• adhere the card panel to a kraft cardbase with foam tape

today, I would like to show you a boy birthday card that I created for this week's Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge:

• create a background on watercolor paper using the Memory Box Texture Wave Stencil and Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean)
• stamp the submarine from Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes on white cardstock and add a face from the same set
• color the stamped image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• stamp the bubbles from the same stamp set directly onto the background with Versamark and heat-emboss with WOW! Clear Multi Sparkle embossing powder; add a generous amount of Glossy Aceents to the bubbles
• I filled my Glossy Accents in this fabulous bottle to prevent the usual clogging
• stamp the sentiment from the same set with Versamark on a strip of vellum and heat-emboss with Ranger Turquoise embossing powder; wrap the strip around the background panel
• stamp several fish from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea on white cardstock and color them with the above mentioned pencils
• adhere the background panel to a scalloped piece of light blue cardstock

today, I would like to show you the card that I created with the From the Heart Stamp of the Month:

• color From the Heart Stamps Loves me Birdbrain with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it
• add Sakura Gelly Roll Souffle (green and blue) to the necklace and Glossy Accents to the beak
• stamp Hero Arts Asian Flower Pattern with Prima Marketing Resist Chalk Edger (Turquoise Stone) on a piece of white cardstock
• cut out a shaker window and add faux stitching with a Distress Marker (Peacock Feathers) and a piece of acetate behind the panel
• add blue and yellow seed beads to the shaker element and close it with the image
• cut out Juliana Michaels Hand Drawn Circles and My Scrap Chick Love Script Word from white cardstock and color the pieces with Prima Marketing Resist Chalk Edger (Vintage Pink, Turquoise Stone) using the direct to paper technique
• cover the sentiment with Versamark and three coats of clear embossing powder
