Hi there,

this is my card for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, grey, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

This week we are using Cherry Cobbler, Rose Red & Coastal Cabana ... have fun!

• create a background using Distress Inks (Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers): add ink from the inkpad to a piece of acetate and tap it on a piece of watercolor paper until you are happy with the result
• apply Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) through a Layering Stencil (Schoolhouse) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
• stamp Stampendous Typewriter Note with Versafine (Onxy Black) and add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the portion containing the sentiment
• mix Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste with Distress Re-Inker (Peacock Feathers) and silver glitter and apply it through the Memory Box Splatter Spray stencil
• layer the panel on a piece of patterned paper from the Prima Marketing Almanac 6x6 paper pad and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Walnut Stain)
• stamp Kaisercraft Dictionary Meanings with Versafine (Vinatge Sepia) on a kraft cardbase for more interest

• color A Day for Daisies Happy Love Day with Spectrum Noir Pencils and Zest-it
• add a little grass using Avery Elle Storybook and Versafine (Onyx Black)
• color the sky using Jaxell Soft Pastels and a pompon
• add Glossy Accents to the balloons
• use the concave corner punch on all four corners
• create a shadow tag from patterned paper from the Simple Stories Hello Baby 6x6 paper pad
• create a background on watercolor paper by applying Fresco Acrylic Paint (Chalk) through the Scrapberry's Petals Pattern stencil - this will create a resist
• apply Distress Ink (Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord) over the entire panel
• thread Prima Marketing Jute Trim Wheat through the holes of the tags

Hi there,

today, I would like to share this mixed media tag with you that I created as part of my application for the Stamplorations Mixed Media Team:

• glue scraps of Tim Holtz Postale tissue wrap to a Manila Tag #8
• cover the tag with gesso
• add Distress Paint (Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon) to your craft sheet and mist it with a little water; drag the tag through the mixture until you are satisified with the result
• add Distress Spray Stain (Pumice Stone) and let it drip down the tag
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)
• stamp some images from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Correspondence with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) and Archival Ink (Watering Can)
• apply Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) through the TCW well-rounded Mini stencil
• dye Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste with Distress Re-Inker (Frayed Burlap) and apply it through another part of the same stencil
• cut out a plane from Grunge Paper, color it with Distress Paint (Gathered Twigs), add some sketchy lines with a dark sepia PITT Artist Pen and cover the whole plane with Crackle Paint Clear Rock Candy
• use a rub on from the Remnant Rubs Words set for the first part of the sentiment and a Chit Chat sticker for the second part
• cut out "journey" from Grunge Paper, cover it with Versamark and heat-emboss it with Ranger Watering Can embossing powder
• add a little blue star altered with Alcohol Ink (Mushroom) to replace the dot over the "j"
• dye a piece of seam binding with the leftovers on your craft sheet and add it as a bow to the top of the tag

1 Image - 3 Ways of Coloring ... Part 3: Alcohol Markers

Hi there,

this is the third and last part of my series "1 Image - 3 Ways of Coloring" that I created for the Karten-Kunst Blog.

I will show you three cards with the same focal image which has been colored with Colored Pencils, Watercolor Pencils and Alcohol Markers.

Today, we will use Alcohol Markers - a coloring medium very popular among cardmakers for the colors are so very vibrant and you can achieve beautiful blending:

• stamp the turtle from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea with Memento (Tuxedo Black) on Perfect Colouring Paper and color the image with Delta Markers and DIY Alcohol Ink Markers
• and cut out a circle from a piece of white cardstock, adhere a piece of acetate behind that circle and surround it with foam dots
• fill the shaker element wíth green and yellow seed beads and cover it with another piece of acetate
• add Versamagic (Oasis Green) through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Dot Fade) with a Mini Ink Blending Tool
• stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Du bist... with Versafine (Smokey Gray) on a piece of white cardstock and ink up the edges with Versamagic (Oasis Green)

How do I make my DIY Alcohol Ink Markers?

• fill sixty drops of Alcohol Ink into an empty marker from the Marker Maker Refill Pack
• sixty drops may sound like much but don't worry, you will still have plenty of Alcohol Ink left in your bottle (see picture below)

today, I am sharing another card that I created for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• take three pieces of white cardstock and stamp the circle background from IndigoBlu Looks like Rain Deer with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• mat the three pieces on Distress Cardstock (Pumice Stone)
• cut out a deer head from the Miss Kate Cuttables Deer Head Set, cover it with Versamark and heat-emboss it with silver embossing powder
• cover the embossed head with Glossy Accents and sprinkle it with Distress Glitter (Pumice Stone)
• punch out a tiny tag and stamp the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps Many Mini Messages with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone)

in this post for the Karten-Kunst Blog I am showcasing Lavinia Stamps:

• stamp Lavinia Stamps Zen Houses with Versafine Onyx Black on watercolor paper
• color the image with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush
• add details with Pearl Makers and Glossy Accents 
• scrape some pigment off the watercolor pencils and dissolve it with water; dye texture paste with this mixture
• apply the texture paste with a palette knife onto a piece of watercolor paper and stamp the IndigoBlu Script Background into the wet paste
• ink the edges using Distress Ink (Pumice Stone) and the Mini Ink Blending Tool
• add the sentiment from the Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers
• adhere the house using foam dots
• mat the finished panel on a black cardbase

I think this is the first black and white card that I have ever made:

• stamp the two roses without additional leaves from Altenew Painted Flowers with Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Charcoal, Soft Granite) and Versafine (Onxy Black); add leaf outlines with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• cut out an oval from black cardstock and one from white cardstock
• cover the edge of the white cardstock with Versamark and heat-emboss it with silver embossing powder
• stamp the sentiment from Paper Smooches Good Gab with Versamark on the black oval and heat-emboss it with the same silver embossing powder

today, I would like to show you this colorful birthday card that I created for a little girl who will be turning 4 this Friday:

• stamp the milkshake from Lawn Fawn Here's the Scoop and the hummingbird from Lawn Fawn Gleeful Gardens with Memento (Tuxedo Black) on Perfect Colouring Paper and create a mirror-stamped image of the hummingbird by stamping it on the backside of a large acrylic stamp or on the back of an unmounted rubber stamp and stamp that on a piece of Perfect Coloring Paper as well; the lines won't be too crisp but you can always go over them with your Memento Marker (Tuxedo Black)
• color the images with Delta Markers
• cut out a vellum circle and add faux stitching with a Memento Marker (Gray Flannel)
• cut out a star from wood veneer, stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Birthday Tags and heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder
• create a background on Neenah Desert Storm Kraft Cardstock by first applying Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink through the My Favorite Thing Large Polka Dots stencil; offset the stencil a little bit and add an ombre range of Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar); ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick)
• use kraft cardstock as a base
• add a little dot of Glossy Accents to the cherry for more shine and dimension

• cut out the word "COFFEE"
• stamp the first part of the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Love you S'more and the second part of the sentiment using Lawn Fawn Baked with Love with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• add faux stitching around the whole panel with a black PITT Artist Pen
• cover the back of the word with acetate and create a shaker elelement using foam tape
• fill the shaker element with silver micro beads and cover it with patterned paper from the Lawn Fawn Sweater Weather petite paper pack
• stamp the travel cup from Lawn Fawn Love you a latte with Versafine (Onyx Black) and color the image with Spectrum Noir Pencils and Zest-it
• cover the heart with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and Glossy Accents

1 Image - 3 Ways of Coloring ... Part 2: Watercolor Pencils

Hi there,

this is the second part of my series "1 Image - 3 Ways of Coloring" that I created for the Karten-Kunst Blog.

I will show you three cards with the same focal image which has been colored with Colored Pencils, Watercolor Pencils and Alcohol Markers.

Today, we will use watercolor pencils:

• stamp the turtle from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea with Versafine (Onyx Black) on watercolor paper and color the image with Faber-Castell Art Grip Aquarelle Pencils and a waterbrush
• tint white embossing paste with Versamagic (Oasis Green) and apply it through the Memory Box Wave Stencil
• stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Du bist... on two strips of white cardstock and since ombre inks are all the rage at the moment I created a similar effect by using two ink pads: Versamagic (Oasis Green) and Colorbox Chalk Ink (Prussian Blue)
• round the bottom left corner with your corner rounder

Stamp Connection #2

Hi there,

connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our second transatlantic get-together!

Our requirements this time were:
"Flowers and Watercolors"

• cut out a scalloped circle from watercolor paper
• stamp the watering can with flowers from Katzelkraft JMC & Norris Fleurs with Versamark and heat-emboss with silver embossing powder
• watercolor the image with Distress Inks and Re-Inkers (Pumice Stone, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Picked Raspberry, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood, Bundled Sage) and  a waterbrush
• stamp the sentiment from Mama Elephant Many Thanks you with Versamark on a paper strip from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder; add a second paper strip and cut both into a banner shape
• cover a white cardbase with patterned paper from the same paper pad; ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass)
