• stamp the sentiment from Create a Smile Schöne Bescherung with Versamark and heat-emboss with platinum embossing powder

Karten-Kunst - Happy Birthday to you

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this CAS Shaker-Card that I created for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

• cut a window from white cardstock and cover the backside with a piece of acetate
• stamp the sentiment from Karten-Kunst Inchie-Grüße 2 with StazOn Spiced Chai directly to the acetate (be careful the surface is rather slippery - ask me how I know :o)) - but don't worry ... if you mess up, you can start over after cleaning the acetate with alcohol or StazOn Cleaner)
• add faux stitching with a dark sepia PITT Artist Pen on the frontside and two-layers of foam tape around the window on the backside
• fill the shaker element with three colors of seed beads and create a background with patterned paper from the DCWV Linen Closet Matstack
• adhere the panel to a white cardbase using foam dots
• stamp the adorable little hedgehog from Penny Black Critter Time with Versafine Vintage Sepia on white cardstock and color the image with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils and Zest-it

Hi there,

this is my mixed media project for this week's Colour me ...! Challenge.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, grey, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

This week we are using Island Indigo, Rich Razzelberry, Tangelo Twist & Daffodil Delight  ... have fun!

• cut a tag from watercolor paper and add tissue wrap (Idea-ology Melange and Terminology) in random spots using gel medium
• add Distress Paint (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire) over a layer of gesso
• color Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste with the same paint colors and apply it through my brand new Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Stars)
• cut out the silhouette from Julie Nutting Buff patterned paper and color the image with Derwent Inktense Pencils and a waterbrush; adhere it to the tag and shade with Stamper's Big Brush Pens
• add some texture stamping using Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink (Watering Can) and Flamingo-Art J-652
• for the next layer apply Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil (Schoolhouse)
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Mustard Seed, Walnut Stain)
• create a sentiment strip with the help of an old typewriter and cut the strip apart; ink it with Distress Ink (Old Paper, Vintage Photo) and adhere the parts to the tag
• dye a wood veneer star with Distress Ink (Aged Mahogany) and add it to the hair
• add some doodles with the Fude Ball Pen (black)
• color a white ribbon in matching Distress Ink colors (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Aged Mahogany) and tie a bow through the hole of the tag

1 Stamp - 10 Tags ... Part 5 - Distress Glitter

Hi there,

this is the fifth tag of my little series for the Karten-Kunst Blog "1 Stamp - 10 Tags" using my favorite glitter Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy:

• cut a tag from watercolor paper
• add Distress Ink (Salty Ocean) to the whole background and generously spritz it with Smooch Spritz Vanilla Shimmer
• stamp the flower from Karten-Kunst Gartenblumen with Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick) and heat-emboss with sticky embossing powder
• sprinkle the sticky images with Distress Glitter Clear Rock Candy
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Majestic Blue
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire)
• thread two strings of twine through the hole of the tag

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you another card that I created for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• stamp Stamping Bella Valerie with Pup on watercolor paper with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and color the image and the background with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors, Distress Marker (Tattered Rose) and Liquid Applique
• cut out the second part of the sentiment from the card and cut it again from blue glitter cardstock and puzzle everything into the right place
• stamp the first part of the sentiment from Kaisercraft Yuletide with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
• add tiny, dimensional snowflakes with the help of the irRESISTible Picco Embellisher (Wedding Dress)

• mask the borders of a piece of watercolor paper with Post-it Tape and create a background  with Distress Inks (Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Mustard Seed)
• stamp the dried flowers from Tim Holtz Flights of Fancy three times with Versafine Vintage Sepia and the sentiment Karten-Kunst Herzlichen Glückwunsch (Happy Birthday) with the same ink color
• mat the watercolor panel on a piece of Distress Cardstock (Wild Honey) and adhere it to a kraft cardbase

this is my first post as a Design Team Member of  the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge:

• cut out a frame from green and red cardstock 
• stamp My Favorite Things Snowfall on two pieces of acetate with StazOn (Opaque Cotton White)
• cut out two hill shapes from sturdy white cardstock, cover them with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing powder
• stamp one of the cats from Mama Elephant Purrfect Pair on white cardstock with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and color the cute little image with Lyra Polycolor Rembrandt Pencils and Zest-it
• add the santa hat from Mama Elephant Arctic Penguins stamped on red glitter paper and embellished with Liquid Applique (white)
• stamp the sentiment from Scrapbook Werkstatt - Dezembertagebuch (Heiligabend means Holy Night) with Versamark on a strip of vellum and heat-emboss with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• run a piece of kraft paper through the Sizzix Texture Boutique using the Darice Paw Print embossing folder and ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap)
• assemble everything and adhere it to a kraft cardbase
• add three enamel dots as final embellishments - I probably would have added sequins but I had to keep it a little more masculine, since the card was for my vet

Hi there,

here is another card that I would like to share with you:

• cover a white cardbase with patterened paper from the Crate Paper Fourteen 6x6 paper pad and add faux stitching with a black PITT Artist Pen
• stamp the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Science of Love with Versamark and heat-emboss with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
• cut a rectangle from paper from the same paper pad and stamp Lawn Fawn Schoolhouse Backdrops with Distress Ink (Old Paper); distress the edges with the Paper Distresser and ink them with the same ink used for the stamping
• stamp the solid heart from Lawn Fawn Science of Love with Versamark and heat-emboss with Sticky embossing powder and apply turquoise foil on top
• cut notebook paper using the Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Notebook Paper cut file from paper from the same paper pad and stamp Lawn Fawn Teeny Tiny Backdrops with Versamark and heat.emboss with Zing! Rose embossing powder; distress and ink the edges just as before
• stamp the cute little test tubes from Lawn Fawn Science of Love with Versafine (Onyx Black) onto white cardstock and color the images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and the Prismacolor Coloreless Blender; add the faces from Lawn Fawn Love you S'More and Glossy Accents to the parts filled with liquid
• wind Prima Jute Trim Wheat around the top layer
• for the embellishments I tried something a little crazy: I saw Jennifer McGuire diecut sequins and for my card I tried to punch small hearts from large sequins; the pink sequin worked fine but the two metallic sequins (turquoise and gold) punched only half-way through and I had to cut the rest with a pair of scissors - the metallic sequins seem to be a little bit thicker

1 Stamp - 10 Tags ... Part 4 - Shabby Chic

Hi there,

this is the fourth tag of my little series "1 Stamp - 10 Tags" showcasing a technique invented by the fabulous Tim Holtz:

• cut a tag from watercolor paper
• paint the tag with dark blue acrylic paint 
• stamp the flower from Karten-Kunst Gartenblumen with Versamark and heat-emboss with clear embossing powder
• cover the background with pink and purple acrylic paint and wait a while but not until the paint is completely dry
• use a paper towel to wipe away the paint on the images and let the dark background show through
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine Imperial Purple
• thread twine through the hole of the tag

Fairy Dress

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this mixed media card:

• watercolor A Day for Daisies Fairy Dress 1 with Distress Inks (Milled Lavender, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, Broken China) and create an ombre look
• color the belt and the hanger with Wink of Stella Silver and Black Glitter
• cut the frame from Lori Whitlock 2 Frames from purple glitter cardstock
• add a piece of burlap ribbon to the left side of the picture and Distress Stickles (Tumbled Glass) to the wings
• glue tissue paper on a piece of watercolor paper using Dina Wakley Gel Medium (I just got this yesterday - I orderd it because I heard Dina recommend it for the use with tissue paper and it really works fantastic) and cover it with gesso
• add Distress Paints (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Pumice Stone)
• stamp Unity Stamps Distressed Quilt with Distress Paint (Tumbled Glass) and mist the background with pearlized water
• apply Distress Ink (Shaded Lilac) through the My Favorite Things Swiss Dots Stencil and heat-emboss them with Frosted Crystal embossing powder
• shift the stencil and apply Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) for darker dots
• cut the type-written sentiment apart and ink the parts up with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone) and apply Distress Ink (Black Soot) around the edges
• add faux stitching with a black Fude Ball Pen and smudge the lines with your fingers right after application to give them a worn look
• encircle the sentiment parts with Gelly Roll Stardust Clear
• ink up the edges with Distress Inks (Pumice Stone, Dusty Concord)

Sound of Bells

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you another card for the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:

• cut the Lori Whitlock Jingle Bell (this is the first time I ever used a bell as a focal point on one of my cards and I never used this cut file before) from silver and gold glitter paper and puzzle the pieces together on a blue cardbase using double-sided adhesive
• stamp the sentiment from Inkystamp Weihnachtszauber (Glockenklang means Sound of Bells) with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink
• round all the corners with a 1/2'' corner rounder

• stamp the sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold, and the Happy (I just received it last week) as the one focal point with Versamark and heat-emboss with Judi Kins Egyptian Gold embossing powder
• add background layers using patterned paper from the Little Yello Bicycle Fern & Forest Girl 6x6 paper pad
• punch out three hearts from the leftover part of the watercolor background panel and cover them with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter; adhere them to the card and partially hide one of them under the watercolor panel

Winter Birthday

Hi there,

today, I would like to show you this Winter Birthday Card:

• create a background on watercolor paper with the trees from Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods stamped with Distress Ink (Pumice Stone); use a waterbrush to fill in the space between the trees with Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) and smooth the lines of the trees
• cut out two hills from white cardstock, cover them with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Whirlpool embossing powder
• hand-stitch a piece of vellum on top of the background panel with silver thread - before closing it up all the way fill the shaker element with tiny silver stars
• stamp the first part of the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Yeti, Set, Go and the second part from Lawn Fawn Year Two on the vellum with Versamark and heat-emboss with WOW! Seafoam White Super Fine embossing powder
• add photo corners punched out from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Stamp and Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs)
• stamp the three critters from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Arctic with Versafine (Vintage Sepia) on white cardstock and color them with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Pencils, Zest-it and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
• stamp the patterm from Lawn Fawn Argyle Backdrops on a light kraft cardbase with Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) and ink up the edges with the same ink color
• add snowflakes with the irRESISTible Pico Embellisher (Wedding Dress) as a finishing touch
