Karten-Kunst Dies #1

Hi there,

today, I am starting a series featuring the new Karten-Kunst Dies over at the Karten-Kunst Blog:

• cut out "Willkommen" (Welcome) three times - once from Distress Cardstock (Worn Lipstick) and twice from sturdy white cardstock - glue the layers together
• stamp the cute little hatching chicken from Penny Black Chick to Chick with Versafine (Onyx Black) and color the image with Spectrum Noir Pencils and Zest-it
• create a sky background using Jaxell Soft Pastels, the Hero Arts Cloudy Stencil and a pompon
• add a gemstone to the "i" of the sentiment and stamp the second part of the sentiment from Lawn Fawn Plus One with the same black ink
• cut out a panel using the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers and another one from patterned paper from the Avery Elle The Everyday Collection 6x6 paper pad

Welcome Little One

Hi there,

this is my creation for the Blog Hop welcoming Shery's little baby girl Kathryn Corazon:

• cut out a panel from Perfect Colouring Paper using the Memory Box Stitched Rectangle Layers
• stamp the cute little animals from Avery Elle Storybook with Memento (Gray Flannel) using the masking technique
• mask all the animals and stamp the flower background with STAMPlorations Zinnia Large
• stamp the sentiment from the same Avery Elle set with VersaMagic (Midnight Black)
• color the animals with Delta Markers and the flowers with Spectrum Noir Pencils
• fill in the white background spaces with Delta Markers as well
• mount the panel onto a grey cardbase

A Day filled with Sunshine

Hi there,

this week it's all about Layers over at the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge:

• stamp the flower basket from Newton's Nook Basket of Wishes with Memento (Tuxedo Black) and color the image with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Zest-it
• cut out two tags using the Lil' Inker Designs Anytime Tags - one from white cardstock and one from burlap
• stamp the sentiment from Newton's Nook Newton's Day Dream with Jenni Bowlin Soap Powder directly to the white tag
• use foam tape to adhere the basket to add extra dimension
• create a background on a white card base using the flower from Newton's Nook Basket of Wishes and color them with the pencils mentioned above
• thread blue twine through the holes of the tags 
• add a stitched banner cut from patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Pen Pals 6x6 patterned paper pad using My Favorite Things Blueprints 20 and adhere the tags on top
• to add an additional layer add some yellow rhinestones to the centers of the bigger flowers

Jingle all the Way

Hi there,

since it is the fifth Saturday of the month it's Pick a Previous time over at the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. I chose the sketch from October 2014:

• stamp the Christmas Tree and the cute deer from My Favorite Things Jingle all the Way with MFT Hybrid Ink (Black Licorice) and color the images with Delta Markers
• add details with a white gel pen
• cut out one stitched rectangle (Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card) and two squares (My Favorite Things Stitched Square STAX) from patterened paper from the Kaisercraft Gingerbread 6,5 x 6,5 paper pad
• stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
• add wood veneer stars as final embellishments and add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
• use Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock as a cardbase

this is the fourth part of my series about Mixed Media Backgrounds for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

• adhere torn book page scraps to the tag with the help of Multi Medium

• create texture by stamping the large dots from Dina Wakley Textures with Memento Luxe (Sweet Plum) and by applying Distress Ink (Dusty Concord) through the Memory Box Texture Dot Grid Stencil with a Mini Ink Blending Tool

• color the toucan from MyGrafico Tropical Birds with Delta Markers and add details with a white gel pen
• create a frame from purple patterned paper using the Memory Box Stichted Scalloped Circles and the My Favorite Things Stitched Circle STAX
• add cross-stitching to both sides using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders 
• stamp the sentiment from Create a Smile Botanical Love with VersaMagic (Turquoise Gem)
• cut out the inner circle from a white card panel to create a shaker window
• adhere a piece of acetate behind the circle window and surround it with foam tape
• fill the shaker element wíth Doodlebug Design Sequins (Swimming Pool, Lilac, Tangerine) and clear seed beads and cover the shaker element with another piece of white cardstock
• add three more sequins as final embellishments

• color the A Day for Daisies Bunny Ears using the same colored pencils, cover the bow with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter and add details using a white gel pen 
• cut out a stitched banner with the help of the My Favorite Thing Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX from vellum
• stamp the sentiment from Lili of the Valley Handwritten Phrases with Versamark and heat-emboss it with purple embossing powder

it's time for the July Stamps Spotlight Week and today it is all about the Fond Expressions 2 stamp set. This is my creation:

• cut out a bookmark from watercolor paper using the Avery Elle Bookmark die and cover it with Tim Holtz Postale Tissue Wrap and gesso
• stamp the STAMPlorations French Marigold Large with Memento Luxe (Gray Flannel) twice and color them with Distress Re-Inkers (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold)
• stamp the leaves from the STAMPlorations Distressed Floral Swirls set with the same Memento Luxe Ink three times along the edge and color them with Distress Re-Inkers (Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn)
• stamp the sentiment from the wonderful new STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 stamp set with Memento Luxe (Sweet Plum)
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Dusty Concord)
• as you probably now all the Distress Ink stays reactive if water is added; to avoid stains in your book, cover the whole tag with Micro Glaze to seal it
• thread a piece of seam binding dyed with Distress Paints (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Dusty Condord) through the hole of the tag

Hi there,

this is the third part of my series about Mixed Media Backgrounds for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

• cut out two tags from watercolor paper using the My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tag STAX and cover it with Gesso
• cover the Memory Box Garden Floral Confetti Stencil with Distress Inks (Shaded Lilac, Worn Lipstick, Broken China), mist it with water from your Mini Mister and print it onto the tag
• ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Shaded Lilac)
• create a hill shape by using the My Favorite Things Stitched Snow Drifts and color it with Distress Inks (Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn)
• stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine set with Versafine Smokey Gray
• stamp the bird and the balloon string from the same set with Memento Tuxedo Black and stamp one extra bird on Perfect Colouring Paper to color it with Delta Markers; add details with a white gel pen
• stamp the balloon with two colors of Brilliance Ink (Pearlescent Sky Blue, Meditarranean Blue) in order to achive an ombre effect
• add some detail at the bottom of the balloon with a black Micron Pen
