Tags of Affection Part 2: For you - Für Dich

Hi there,

this is part two of my Tags of Affection Series for the Karten-Kunst Blog:

  • use one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tags STAX dies to cut a tag from Perfect Colouring Paper
  • cut out the little heart-shaped hole with the help of one of the hearts from the My Favorite Things Tag Builder Blueprints 5
  • stamp the super sweet elephant and the heart-shaped balloon from the Avery Elle Ellie set with Memento (Tuxedo Black)
  • color the images with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers 
  • add highlights with a white gel pen
  • stamp the sentiment from the Karten-Kunst Große Worte Überraschung set with Versafine (Smokey Gray)
  • apply some Distress Ink (Spun Sugar) through the Memory Box Splatter Spray Stencil and ink up the edges with the help of a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • thread pink and silver twine through the hole of the tag

Sweet Cupcake

Hi there,

I would like to show you a new creation for the A Day for Daisies Blog:

  • color the super sweet A Day for Daisies Blossom Cupcake with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a damp watercolor brush
  • cut a stitched panel from watercolor cardstock and mask off a circle
  • add color to the circle with Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac) 
  • create a wreath around that circle using small images from the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms set and Memento Luxe (Rose Bud), Versacraft (Cerulean Blue) and VersaMagic (Pretty Petunia, Aloe Vera) 
  • stamp the sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sugar Rush set with Archival Ink (Watering Can) - I used my MISTI to get a crisp impression on the textured surface of the watercolor paper
  • add a strip of pink glitter cardstock to the left side of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

    Get well soon Mermaid Tag

    Hi there,

    it's time for a new Challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More and I would like to show you this cute little underwater scene:

    • stamp the underwater scene using stamps from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for you set with Versafine (Smokey Gray) onto a tag cut from watercolor paper
    • color the image with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a waterbrush
    • create a background using Distress Ink (Salty Ocean) and a waterbrush
    • add some tiny dots with Pearlized Water, Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the tail of the mermaid, some details to the seahorse with a white gel pen and texture to the stone with Distress Markers
    • use the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen randomly on the edges of the tag and attach some Deco Foil Teal to the sticky areas
    • stamp the sentiment from the Uniko Simply Said stamp set with Versafine Deep Lagoon
    • dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Salty Ocean) and thread it through the hole of the tag

    Go get carried away

    Hi there,

    Gerda Steiner Designs has published the new January/February Digital Stamp Bundle and this is my first creation using the adorable Balloon Bear image:

    • color the Gerda Steiner Designs Balloon Bear image available as part of the January/February Digital Stamp Bundle with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • add details with a white gel pen
    • stamp the sentiment from the Mama Elephant Carried away set with Versafine (Imperial Purple) onto a banner cut from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock with the help of one of the dies from the My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 set
    • cut another banner from patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Hearts and Stripes 6x6 paper pad
    • mount the stitched square onto a Neenah Desert Strom kraft cardbase
    • add three Doodlebug Design Sprinkles Enamel Dots (Silver) as final embellishments

    Merry Christmas Butterfly

    Hi there,

    although the Skipping Stones Design Blog has been taking a time out in December, I still want to share this Christmas Card with you. I created it with a non-Christmas image - the beautiful butterfly from the Skipping Stones Design Let it be stamp set:

    • cut a circle from Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock with the help of one of the Tattered Lace Torn Edge Circle dies
    • stamp one of the butterflies from the Skipping Stones Design Let it be set with Memento (Rich Cocoa) onto the circle
    • color the image with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
    • ink up the edges of the circle with Altenew Crisp Ink (Evening Gray) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
    • add splatters with Finetec Mica watercolors (Tibet Gold)
    • cover the entire stitched background panel with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain stamp and Avery Elle Pigment Ink (Kraft)
    • stamp the "Christmas!" sentiment from the Skipping Stones Design Holiday Cats set with Versamark onto a strip of Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder
    • add stitching to the sentiment strip with one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders dies
    • cut out the Memory Box Small Blooming Poinsettia from sturdy white cardstock and color the elements with the same red and green markers used on the butterfly
    • add a little pearl to the center of the flower
    • cut out the Clearly Besotted Stamps Merry from white glitter cardstock and color it with the darkest green marker used on the butterfly
    • add a strip of gold glitter tape to the right side of the cardbase before adhering the panel and all the elements

    Tags of Affection Part 1: With all my Heart - Von Herzen

    Hi there,

    I am starting a new Mini Series over on the Karten-Kunst Blog and this time it is all about "Tags of Affection". This is the first of six and I will show you the others on the next couple of Mondays:

    • use one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Traditional Tags STAX dies to cut a tag from Neenah Desert Storm kraft cardstock
    • cut out the little heart-shaped hole with the help of one of the hearts from the My Favorite Things Tag Builder Blueprints 5

    • thread pink and natural twine through the hole of the tag

    • color the super adorable A Day for Daisies Sleeping Angel with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Distress Markers and a damp watercolor brush
    • add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to her wings and the cloud
    • cut out the Lori Whitlock Stacking Cardbase Stars from sturdy white cardstock using the Brother ScanNCut and layer them on top of each other with silver glitter cardstock underneath
    • ink up the edges with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire)
    • stamp the sentiment with the help of the Clearly Besotted Many Mini Messages, the Avery Elle Lovely Letters, Versamark and WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder

    Have a beary good Birthday

    Hi there,

    I would like to show you this fun Birthday Card over on the Stamping-Fairies Blog:

    • stamp the skating bear from the My Favorite Things Polar Bear Pals set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) onto a stitched rectangle panel cut from white cardstock
    • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
    • mask off the bear and create a background using the My Favorite Things Circle Scribble Flower set and Altenew Crisp Ink (Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Sea Glass, Ocean Waves)
    • remove the mask and color the bear with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers
    • add highlights with a white gel pen and shimmer with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter
    • stamp the My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripes Background with Versafine (Onyx Black) directly onto the white cardbase
    • add a strip of turquoise glitter cardstock to the bottom of the focal panel before adhering it to the cardbase

    Überraschung - Surprise

    Hi there,

    I would like to share another fun birthday card over on the Karten-Kunst Blog with you:

    • stamp one of the adorable fish from the Avery Elle That Bites set with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and color the image with Twinkling H20s (Pewter, Mango Mamba, Rose Petal, Teal Zircon) - I used my ZIG Clean Color Real Bruh Pens to add some shading
    • cut out two stitched rectangles - one from watercolor paper and one from smooth white cardstock
    • cut out the scallopped My Favorite Things Peek-a-Boo Circle Window from the smooth piece and stamp the little bubbles from the same stamp set with different Altenew Crisp Inks (Puffy Heart, Caribbean Sky, Ocean Waves, Warm Sunshine)
    • add the sentiment with the help of the Karten-Kunst Große Worte Überraschung stamp set and Versafine (Smokey Gray)
    • use the watercolor piece as a background and add color with Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers) and the Mini Ink Blending Tool - add some water droplets using the Mini Mister for extra texture
    • cover the opening with actetate and create a shaker element with the help of double-sided foam tape
    • fill the shaker element with Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (4mm Cornflower, 4mm and 6mm Aquamarine)

    Dare to Sparkle Canvas

    Hi there,

    it's time for another Stencil Sunday over on the STAMPlorations Blog.

    • cover a canvas with white gesso 
    • wrap a piece of cheesecloth around a paintbrush and create a rose - secure it with Prima Marketing Clear Sculpture Medium
    • adhere the paintbrush with gel medium
    • cover the paintbrush with white gesso as well
    • add texture by applying modeling paste through the ARTplorations Old Rose Prints stencil - let it dry thoroughly
    • add color using Prima Marketing Color Bloom Sprays (Iris, Soft Teal, Summer Sky)
    • color the roses with Inktense Pencils and add shadows with Golden Fluid Acrylics (Payne's Gray)
    • ink up the edges of the whole canvas with Distress Ink (Black Soot)
    • add more interest by stamping the script form the STAMPlorations Mixed Media Elements set with Archival Ink (Watering Can)
    • stamp parts of the sentiment with the help of the STAMPlorations Art Marks set and Memento Luxe (Tuxedo Black) - and since I am very impatient I heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to dry it instantly 
    • add the "to" with the help of a Dymo Label Maker
    • add splatters with watered-down Golden Fluid Acrylics (Payne's Gray)

    Stamp Connection #21

    Hi there,

    connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Cornelia from Stempel Spass and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our 21st transatlantic get-together!

    Our requirement for this meet-up was:
    newsprint

    • cover a wood panel with white gesso
    • use Prima Marketing Soft Matte Gel to glue newsprint tissue paper onto selected areas
    • cover random spots with DecoArt Media Crackle Paste and let it dry thoroughly
    • tint the crackles with DecoArt Media Antiquing Cream (Patina Green)
    • add more color to the background with the help of Prima Marketing Metallique Acrylic Paint (Light Patina, Deep Waters)
    • stamp images from the Tim Holtz Nautical Blueprint set with Archival Ink (Watering Can) and heat-emboss them with clear embossing powder
    • add splatters with watered-down Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint (Titanium White)
    • dye a piece of seam-binding with left-over blue paint and adhere it to the back of the panel with hot glue

    Celebrate Clown

    Hi there,

    I created this colorful birthday card for the A Day for Daisies Blog. And I just realized that this is the perfect project for this post because it is time to celebrate my 1000th post ... can't believe I've shared so many projects already.

    • color the A Day for Daisies Sir Carl Clown image with ZIG Clean Color Real Bursh Pens, Distress Markers and a damp watercolor brush
    • cut out a scalloped stitched panel from watercolor paper and create a background with the help of small images from the Paper Smooches Twiggy Florets and Sugar Rush sets and Versafine (Onyx Black) 
    • color those flowers, circles and sweets with some of the same markers used on the clown
    • add a sentiment made with a Dymo Label Maker

    Polar Bear Mixed Media Tags

    Hi there,

    I would like to show you these fun Mixed Media Tags over on the Stamping-Fairies Blog:

    • use a brayer to cover black tags with Amsterdam Acrylic Paint (Titanium Buff Deep) and Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint (Turquoise, Ocean, Blackberry Violet)
    • splatter on some snowflakes using white gouache or watered-down white acrylic paint
    • cut out some hillshapes from white cardstock
    • cover the back of the tag with patterned paper from the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa 6x6 paper pad
    • stamp the waving polar bear from the My Favorite Things Polar Bear Pals set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) three times and color the images with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • thread some twine through the hole of the tags

    Hot Cocoa

    Hi there,

    after this post you have seen all my creations with the wonderful images from the Gerda Steiner Designs December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle. On this tag I used the sweet surprise image:

    • color the Gerda Steiner Designs Winter Girl image which is available as part of the December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • add highlights with a white gel pen and texture to the rim and the pompon of the cap with white Liquid Applique
    • cut out the snowy scene from the Create a Smile Frosty Fun Kit from watercolor paper
    • color this background with watered-down Distress Inks (Gathered Twigs, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Iced Spruce)
    • use a generous amount of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter over that snowy hill
    • adhere the sweet girl with foam tape
    • cut out a stitched circle from white glitter cardstock and mount the snowy landscape onto that circle
    • punch out a little star at the top of the circle and thread some natural twine through it - tie one strand into a little bow

    Celebrate Monsters

    Hi there,

    I would like to share this masculine Celebration Card over on the Karten-Kunst Blog:

    • stamp two monsters, a cupcake and a present from the Gerda Steiner Designs Monster Fun set with Memento (Tuxedo Black) - I used masking to create this little scene
    • color the images and the background with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • add Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to the dots on the large present and the cream on the cupcake and googly eyes to the eyes of the monsters
    • cut out the CUTplorations Celebrate die from green glitter fun foam
    • draw in random dots with a silver gel pen as finishing touch
    • stamp the My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripes Background with Avery Elle Pigment Ink (Mint to be) onto a piece of sturdy white cardstock
    • add a strip of grey cardstock and of this DIY patterned paper to the bottom of the panel before adhering it to a white cardbase

    Happy Houses

    Hi there,

    today, we are starting the first Mixed Media Challenge in 2017 on the STAMPlorations Blog.

    • cover an art journal page cut from extra sturdy watercolor paper with white gesso
    • stamp some of the adorable STAMPlorations Houses with Versafine (Smokey Gray) - this is just to determine the exact placement on the page
    • cut out some circles from dry wall tape and adhere them onto the page
    • color the page with Golden Fluid Acrylics (Manganese Blue Hue, Phthalo Blue Green Shade, Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold)
    • apply some Texture Paste through the ARTplorations Just Squares stencil and let it dry thoroughly
    • mix some Golden Fluid Acrylic (Carbon Black) with Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid and paint it over the raised areas, let it sit for a moment and wipe it away with a baby wipe - repeat the process until you are happy with the result
    • stamp the same houses from the STAMPlorations Houses set with My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink (Black Licorice) onto a piece of sturdy white cadrstock, color them with Delta and Touch Twin Brush Markers, cut them out and glue them onto the page with Matte Multi Medium
    • add shading around the houses with a black Stabilo All Pencil
    • add snowflakes with the help of watered-down white acrylic paint and a splatter brush
    • use white Liquid Applique to create snow underneath the houses
    • add the sentiment using a sticker

    Happy Mail Owl

    Hi there,

    today, I would like to share another creation using an image from the Gerda Steiner Designs December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle:

    • color the Gerda Steiner Designs Owl Letter image which is available as part of the December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • add highlights with a white gel pen
    • cut out two stitched panels from watercolor paper
    • use one of those panels as a background and add color with Distress Ink (Weathered Wood) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
    • spritz that background with Pearlized Water for more texture
    • cut the Poppy Stamps House in the Woods from the other panel and color the trees with watered-down Distress Ink (Iced Spruce)
    • stamp the sentiment from the Create a Smile Happy Mail set with Versafine (Vinatge Sepia) - I used my Mini MISTI to get a crisp impression on the textured surface
    • adhere the adorable little owl with foam tape

    I love Winter Snowman

    Hi there,

    welcome to our first Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge in 2017 - this time we would like to see some layers on your project:


    • stamp the adorable Whipper Snapper Designs Sawyer twice with Memento (Tuxedo Black)
    • color the images with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • cut out the hat and the mittens and add them on top of the other image
    • add white Radiant Neon Amplify on the snowy areas on his hat and nose
    • cut out the Lil' Inker Designs Instant Camera frame three times - once from watercolor paper, once from patterned paper from the My Mind's Eye Wood 6x6 paper pad and a third time from patterned paper from the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa 6x6 paper pad
    • layer the patterend paper frames on top of each other and create a background on the negative of the watercolor frame with Distress Inks (Broken China, Peacock Feathers) and Pearlized Water
    • layer torn strips of patterend paper from the Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa 6x6 paper pad and vellum to create a backdrop for the frame on a white cardbase
    • create a sentment using the Dymo Label Maker and add a white glitter heart cut with the help of the Mama Elephant Confetti die

    It's your Day Snowglobe

    Hi there,

    we are starting a new Challenge over on the A Day for Dasies Blog and this time we would like to see two or more layers on your project:

    • color the A Day for Daisies Swing in a Snow Globe image with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a damp watercolor brush
    • cut out a circle frame eight times from sturdy white cardstock and layer them on top of each other
    • add a circle cut from acetate on top of that shaker element and glue a blue glitter frame on top
    • fill the shaker element with clear and green glitter
    • stamp the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain onto a stitched square cut from Neenah Desert Storm Kraft cardstock with Avery Elle Pigment Ink (Kraft)
    • add the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms set with Versafine (Majestic Blue)
    • mount the woodgrain panel onto a piece of blue glitter paper - use the Mini Perfect Layers Tool for the perfect border

    • add little dots with a silver gel pen
    • cut out a stitched panel using the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle STAX
    • stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set with Versafine (Onyx Black)
    • create a background with the help of the My Favorite Things Mini Modern Blooms set and Altenew Crisp Ink (Persian Blue, Volcano Lake) and Versafine (Imperial Purple)
    • add some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins (6mm Sparkling Clear, 4mm Cornflower, Aquamarine, Pansy Purple) as final embellishments

    Let it Snow Penguin Scene

    Hi there,

    this is my third creation using one of the wonderful images from the Gerda Steiner Designs December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle:

    • color the Gerda Steiner Designs Penguin with Hat image which is available as part of the December-January Digital-Stamp-Bundle with Delta, Touch Twin Brush and Copic Markers
    • add texture to the rim and the pompon of the cap with white Liquid Applique
    • cut out a stitched panel from watercolor paper and create a little lake scene
    • stamp the sheet of ice from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Arctic set with Versafine (Smokey Gray) and color it with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens - mask it off
    • draw in the lake border with a grey pen
    • stamp some trees from the Lawn Fawn Let it Snow set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with Zing! Leaf embossing powder and WOW! Earthtone Mint embossing powder
    • add color to the backgroud with Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Salty Ocean) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool 
    • stamp in some snowflakes from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Arctic set with Hero Arts Shadow Ink (Silver)
    • add white splatters with Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor
    • mount the panel onto a piece of dark blue cardstock - use the Mini Perfect Layers Tool for the perfect border
    • adhere the cute penguin with foam tape 
    • stamp the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Let it Snow set with Versamark onto a strip of that same dark blue cardstock and heat-emboss it with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder and also adhere that strip using foam tape
